Same/Back burnered. I got more important things to worry about. Like...

Took the spring packs apart to pull a leaf. Only dropped it an inch. Ride is minimally improved. Wheel hop seems to be slightly improved, but will need more miles and burnouts to be sure.

Noticed an odd wear pattern on the tires. Wonder why that is...?

Yeah. I can only assume though. They don't have the standard DOT week/year date code. (Made cause made in Mexico?) Fronts are just about bald too. My plan is just to burn the rears off fairly quickly, then get a decent full set of brand new Costco specials for daily driving. Then junkyard (or craigslist) wheels and tires for burnouts. Probably a pair of drag slicks for the rears eventually too. Depends on what I can scrounge up. Definitely no long road trips until I replace what's currently on there though. #dryrot

Not sure why more Kudos aren't rolling in your way but.... Good Shyt Man!! Solid build. You put all this together in record time, I think. Working on my own GTP rebuild I know it can be hard to keep things moving forward. And to have the funds to keep them moving! man ohh man...

Anyway, you've certainly kept me motivated, and impressed. Cheers.

Thanks man. I think most guys just stop in to lurk. Not much to say I suppose, and that's okay. I just hope this thread helps someone, somewhere. There was really only a couple times I wanted to walk away. Fitting the radiator comes to mind. Funds were pretty much always there. At least they turned up when needed. Shrewd craigslist deals, and the ocasional odd job (trans rebuild) kept just enough in PayPal to keep the nessecary parts coming.

Snapped a picture of it on level ground after pulling the one leaf. Still about an inch higher in the rear, but closer to level now. I'm good with that, as I do plan to occasionally use the truck to haul stuff. Probably the heaviest thing I'll put back there is the boys quads. Anything more than that and I'll use the K10. I think I'll go lower in the future, but nothing too radical. A 2/3 drop would be nice.

    After

    Before

And here's what will be funding the Caltracs

Father in law's car needs lower intake gaskets, trans service and some other general maintenance items.

All Grand Prix, all the time. 69 Model J, 99 GT & GTP coupes. All junk, haha.

I can't say for sure if this truck is faster than my Grand Prix, but I can say with 100% certainty it's more fun. The sound of the V8 singing at WOT, random stop sign burnouts and sliding it around every corner. Can't beat that. The ability to beat on it like a rented mule without fear of breaking something is nice too.

Working on the driver skill, and traction bars are on the short list. I'd like to run it down the track to see what it'll do, but I'm going to need new rubber before that happens. Hopefully we can "numbers" race before this site self destructs.
