Woah. I remember a saying like that for coral snakes
Oh, that is the elusive Ugly Sweater bug. How were you able to sneak up in this majestic creature?
Jeff
I must be lucky - it was on my door when I left for work.... Never seen one before
It's actually a Ailanthus Webworm Moth.
Jeff
Dude. That's awesome - no idea how you knew that
They need to make an app that lets me take a pic of any bug and it tells me what it is.
i found out today just how hard it is to google what you can't describe.
I almost walked into his web with him in it, I was like 2 inches from him when I saw a little dark spot in the glow of a street light. I hate spiders, like really hate them.
Then this guy. Think scotty said it was a (nickname) writing spider.

Well I thought I would mess with you with the ugly sweater bug, thought it was kinda funny. Thought you were pulling pics from the net, didn't think you really had a picture of one until you said so. Well Tyler did call me a nerd a few times. He's right and sometimes it comes in handy. But it would be cool if you could just input a pic and it would tell you what it was, that would be cool.
Jeff
The second one is a black and yellow garden spider the other one I think is a mite spider?
Jeff
Edit: if it had a real nice round web it's going to be a member of the weaver family but not sure which one.
Um I will admit , I did Google "ugly sweater bug" just in case it really was haha. You got me
honestly though, really cool you knew that. I been reading about that moth now, and it's making sense why I wouldn't have seen one. I'm in western new york and apparently I am at the far end of its travels. They say it originates in Central America and southern Florida and cannot survive the cold winters here. Neat little bug. Glad I posted that now!
The things you learn..
I can name bolts on cars, Jeff can name bugs and Bob is bored
What kind of bug is this? Looks like I caught them at an awkward time and zapped them
Japanese Beetle. If you don't recognize it consider yourself lucky.
