I've heard Houston is notorious for wheel thieves. I told my buddy who recently moved to Houston to keep his SRT Grand Cherokee in the garage.

except for a 7 sided lug nut...right bill?
I'm fully aware of that but it will slow them down therefore exposing them longer. People walk up and down my street at all hours so there's a very high chance they will be seen.

What makes me laugh is when guys say.. "Just buy wheel locks" smh... Right like that help.. I broken wheel locks plenty of times just to take a wheel off ...or.. My best.. "Swap lug nut sizes... Keep em guessing man"
Unless you have a key for all locks it could be worth it. The way I have removed locks in the past was to pound a socket that would fit tight on the lock and use a impact to drive them off. These guys don't use powered tools, at least from the video I saw, they did them by hand with a 4 way, and they took their time. If they started using tools I would (hope to) hear that, and the only thing I would do is tell the wife to get down put on ear muffs and start firing first at the driver of the truck and any roaches I may see. Texas is unique, if you are involved in the commission of a felony and anyone is killed any survivors are the ones charged with murder. Some may say "Man that is harsh to kill someone over your rims." but I say is taking my rims worth your life? It goes both ways, and I am done playing around with this kind of BS. There are a lot of home invasions in and around Houston, burglaries, car jackings, robberies the list goes on. Just last week the President of the company I work for had her house burglarized, and they stole her husbands ashes! It wasn't even a Urn but a plain wooden box! This is the second time she has been broken into. One of the guys in the shop was burglarized 4 different times, he doesn't make a lot of money maybe $15-17 an hour, and how many times can you drop between 1-4K on deductibles depending on your insurance? Last year there was an old man that was at home and 2 women broke into his house he met them with a 12 gauge and blasted the older one in the stomach and the younger one he chased out of the house and I don't know how many times he shot at her but the stolen car they arrived in was peppered with what looked like 00 buck. The younger one ended up losing an arm. The old man was not charged.

With a set of reverse twist sockets (or whatever name you choose to call them) keys are not needed.
Or move somewhere with less crime.
Pepper spray? You mean hot sauce.
And as far as lock nuts go use multiple sets, not just one set that isn't even worth it. They may be able to get them off but the object is to make it a pain so they move on. Kinda like car alarms they won't keep someone from stealing the car but if they see it there are easier targets then that's what they will go for. I know it's easy to get every lock key, I used to have a complete for the time set. If they want your car they will take it even if it means using a tow truck.
Jeff
if only this country followed the illegal immigration law
I agree with bandook.. youll shoot to kill for some wheels? Thats stupid..
What if someone driving by gets hit?a neighbor, bystanders or even your wife/family? Is that worth it for $300-1000 rims? Or stock rims which are cheaper.
Sell one of your guns and get full coverage and sleep soundly not worrying about your precious rims.
Glad i live in Canada. I live in a small town and dont worry bout gangs and thieves and i STILL have full coverage.
