    European car ownership is fun.

2011+ S60 T5/T6? Up to 330 CHP, AWD, fairly reliably on the whole. Super safe, because Volvo. Hell my 2001 has more air bags than anything else from that time period.

Also, S80 V8 would be right in your price point. V8 sound, six speed auto, AWD, 300 CHP, safe, etc. Also find one with Dynaudio package. It honestly is an easy $2000 to replicate that option with aftermarket parts. Don't like the sound out of the box? No problem, front and rear EQ, all up to you. Best of all, Volvo seats are FTMFW on long road trips.

Why does new baby, mean new car? Lol... GP has plenty of room for baby seat, and plenty of power to boot!

Keep what you have. If it's just one child then the GP is more then enough. If the cars running and working fine enjoy not having a car payment and being able to save, kids aren't cheap that extra money will come in handy.

Don't kill the guy too much for wanting to get a nicer car. As long as he doesn't end up in a minivan then he's good. We're not the ones making the payment and if he enjoys it then so be it. We all can't drive 14+ year old cars, lol... I'd look at the Volvo's as well. They seem to hold up really well and can be improved on.

That said, I have no issues hauling my 7 yr old daughter around in either our 95 Bonneville, 00 GPGT, or the 03 CV LX Sport. All 4 doors and have enough room in the trunk of the Vic for a weeks worth of junk for a family vacation for 3. I have had my brother's 2 kids along for the ride as well and they fit just fine in the GP and the Bonne. Granted they don't have all the modern fancy stuff, the HP or AWD, but they do the job and have been really reliable. Not having a car payment all these years has helped with other things for the kiddo for sure.

I don't know how you people like your GP with baby seats in them, I find it way too small. Ended up getting a mini van, soooooo much more practical sorry but almost no car short of a huge old Lincoln will compare to the ease of getting kids in and out of. New Pentastar Dodge Grand Caravan is the same HP as a GTP.

^^^ Minivan. Just got back from Florida trip. 3 kids, stroller, baby seat, weeks worth of clothes, coolers, fishing gear, 2 tackle boxes, laptop and more and Still could have fit another person and got 27 mpg. Keep what you have since no payment, and get the most practical vehicle. Were looking to trade in, probably a newer sienna. Tried hard to talk wife into a 14 Explorer, only SUV in our price range that has a ton of room...twin turbo six makes it that much more tempting. Sadly she doesn't like them

this, I have just one 9 month old and with a bigger stroller and car seat the impala is full pretty much, I tried just the impala for a few months said **** it got cheap ass 2003 dodge minivan. took the bench out of the back so its a 4 seater for now, tons of room dont even have to fold the stroller up just roll it in and lock the wheels.

my suggest: suv or cuv or minivan

I don't know squat about dad stuff like this but have plenty of dad friends and the smartest / happiest choices I've seen made are the not-full-size, quad-cab pickups. For up to two kids up to 10 YO or so, size-wise. The kids can climb a little just fine and ride / entry height is sensible and convenient. Trucks the size of Dakota, Frontier, etc tend to be tougher than one would think, in the truckin n towing department and reasonably cheap on fixes. Plus some look good and some pack a punch with the right options. Plus you can pick 2 or 4WD. The only drawback is popularity and therefore they are kinda high to buy used or nice. Your budget may allow. Once the kids are big, switching to a fullsize will make more sense IMO.

Just a single man's observation over many years. If you get a cool one and leave it stock, you're still a man driving it. If you get a plain one and personalize it, even better. Kids love trucks, you can do stuff in em that makes them go "Whoa!" lol. If minivan / SUV.... please use the testicle holder and fasten your seatbelts. Ha. I'm coupe only so my opinion might be piggy.
All Grand Prix, all the time. 69 Model J, 99 GT & GTP coupes. All junk, haha.
