A tiny splash of suitable reducer (say 5-10%) might help it work for you. Its easier to get nice flow on horizontal panels but if you're spraying vertical ones and adding reducer be careful because runs don't always start until you look away and those are worse than peel.

I think that was my other problem, I was laying down the clear with the panels off the car on a work bench standing over them.

I do know that I was about 8 inches away from the panels, I might need to get closer to them with it reduced as well, since I remember once hearing that one of the causes of orange peel is too much distance from the object.

At any rate, man you guys do some great work there, I always admire good body work since I of course suck at it.

Fire or ice cream with your root beer?

That GTO came to us partially built, but it was a long row to hoe nonetheless. Heres an 83 280ZX suspension I built lol. I did over 30 rust patches around the lower body panels and front structure and another guy did floor and rails. Customer ran low on dough so we stabbed the powertrain and rolled it onto his trailer.

Diggin out some shiny to look at and I know I've shown bits of this all steel 31 Model A before. I pretty much just did the bondo bath on this one plus fitted doors and re-skin the rumble seat lid. Another local rod shop built it and had us do filler and paint. Hoping I'll run across a good front pic, I'm just posting from whatever order I uploaded in. More on the way.

    Like that, lol.

Seriously, I've noticed a trend in comments on my '69GP. A troubling new phrase is popping up. Everyone has mostly always said "nice car" for all these years.

Now, the younger kids scream "Give me your car!". Thats wrong, and I don't respond to it because if I did, I'd hurt some feelings lol. I always thank the rest kindly. "I can has?" mentality irks me somethin fierce. But I'm strange and think gifts are often a bad thing. What I do enjoy is showing folks what is possible with some imagination once a guy pulls his head out of the engine compartment and gives some thought to what he CAN do elsewhere. Its just not working.

This baby got brand new 18 gauge stuff because thats the thinnest we have. Its one of those borderline needs a floor jobs. People like so much goo on floors, both sides, that I reckon you don't need so much pretty new sheetmetal.

They may be why the forum gave me "server too busy" message when I tried to post this yesterday. Lost what I wrote so this is it. The filler work is like 2/3 done now and the hood might already be primed. Quitting time snuck up on me yesterday so no pics then. These are Thursday, and no blocking had been done yet. 8" and 6" DA are used to rough in the shape, and a second application of filler goes over this. The new mud spot is just as big but nowhere near as thick. Yes, epoxy primer went down before filler here. Customer is due for a visit and a first bill next week. I cost a few grand a month, or so I'm told.

I'll see if I can't dig up more shiny stuff.
