Lmao. I never knew that
I agree with bluemagic guy, go nissan if you want more fun.
Manual car, better suspension, sound etc etc. Just things might cost a few dollars more.
A few? A cold air intake off eBay is almost $250
I'm sure it's cheaper ways. K&N filters cost the same if more for WBodies and there's an cheaper alternative.
You'd be retarded to buy anything off ebay anyway.
Cold air intakes are for the birds, they don't even matter anymore.
Apparently you didn't look very hard
$65

Well there ya have it lol
Yeah that's good and all but merica.....
There's a serious battle going on in this thread. lolololol.

And they nailed it in the first post:
Truthfully they are right the grand prix is a better platform than the Maxima. It has a better and cheaper aftermarket. The 3.8L is much more flexible than the VQ series. If though it wont make as much NA HP it is a monster with boost and it has superior suspension to the 5th gen maxima. Just take it for what it is and enjoy the novelty of the cars. Dont try and argue with people over something that's irrelevant. In the end both us and the grand prix community are driving and modding sh1tty family cars.
Lmao did that say superior suspension? Ctfu! I'm assuming they've never driven because these cars handle like crap.
Have you ever seen a maxima rear suspension.... It's a minivan beam setup. MacPherson struts up front, same as the GP.
Just so we are clear here, So your saying the grand prix suspension is better than the maxima?
Having IRS in any form is better to start with (we're talking about modifying cars right?) on a FWD car. Sure you can do pan hard bars with a solid beam but not being able to dick with the alignment at all in the rear is a major downgrade.
I've only driven five grand prix, with various suspension configurations and they all drive like crap. Also if we are talking about modifying the maxima offers tons of coilover options which gives more flexibility in the suspension department. Hands down the maxima is a alot more fun to drive on a daily basis. Yes the 3.8 makes boatloads of power but that's in a straight line. Once a corner comes up then it's another game entirely lol
I daily an i30.. on coilovers. Wake me up when it's over.
Everyone on that link to the kids maxima forum is agreeing with most of us. Grand prix ftw. 3.8 > VQ.
Ummm A friend has an 04 Maxima with a Manual and he ran 12.8 with just intake and exhaust, he did gut the interior and tape up the front air damn, but it is the fastest NA maxima and it is pretty much bone stock.
I am almost saying go maxima, but in all reality, why not buy an LSx fbody? About the same price and a much better platform than either of them, heck a foxbody mustang would be better. Now that I think of it I might just sell this car and get a fox body lol.
Why not both? LOL
There's a guy around here with a nasty fox body powered by a SBC. He was at the track Saturday night and was running low 10's.
