I love my gxp but I think I'm at the point where I need to get a new project car or a different daily car. I know my tranny is gonna die even if I get the 5500 for the turbo kit. Then thats like another 3gs.They dont make a lot of parts for my ls4 especially headers which I was told is a huge problem with my motor. Getting a new camaro or a g8 gxp are options for me. I was wondering wehat the community thinks.

Camaro and G8 are built from the same platform. Pretty much same power just camaro is little lighter. Also Camaro SS is about 5k Cheaper if not more then the G8 GXP. Well the G8 GXP in Arkansas is right at 40K. Camaro SS built with everything is about 32-33. So..guess just drive and see what one you like! lol

I was told that the new Camaro was built off of the GTO frame. Possibly the G8 too but im not for sure.

Not really relevant to what were talking about but is this true?

It is based on the Zeta platform that is the SAME one used for the G8. The last GTO made was in 2006 im pretty sure like the 05'it was made off the V-Body. And I dont believe the Zeta platform was out. I could be WAY wrong.

o and also the 6.2 in the camaro SS is bhp at 422...in the g8 GXP its bhp is 414. Like I said before...I guess it just depends on what you truly like and wanna spend.

Already stopped at Matts for a few things. And as far as having $$$ lmao. If I had the money I'd get the turbo for 5500 then have the rebuild my trans before it dies for about 3000. I need ideas for my car within reach such as the full 3" exhaust, valve upgrades and 1.8 roller rockers (I know 1.8 is whats recommended for the 3800 but what about the gxp?). Thats all easily within reach. Found the valve stuff and roller rockers for about 350 each, then the full exhaust should be a lil under a grand.

talk to matt and see what he says. remember its FWD so you are limited, think about it, pour 10grand into a car thats really not worth it. get a set of roller rockers, and open up the exhaust and i would leave it as is. maybe a nitrous kit for fun but thats really it.

Well say I get "the boss" the agree on a project car. Should I snag a lil older GP or just leave the gp's alone and remake Bumblebee from Transformers =D. At least those motors I know well.

I have my eyes set on the ls2 in the 05-06 GTO atm. Gonna test drive one tomorrow that apparently has some cam work done and a custon box in the trunk but...I havent driven a stick in years and I'm gonna look like a jackass. Either way that ls2 has me hot in the pants, I gotta find out why the guy traded it in.
