Advanced got me a new set of plugs after a slight disagreement. They told me to just re gap them even after most of the tips were bent. Then one guy tried to regap them for .060 after I told him it was .040 and he ****ed that plug up.

All the Delco plugs and even the Accels I've bought in recent years have had plastic tubes over the tips to avoid damage while in the box. What a rip.

Yeah I don't get it, when I did plugs on my moms car only 2 of 6 plugs had that plastic tube on it. These didn't have any at all, my NGKs had some beefy cardboard tubes on the ends. He said its because Delcos are a cheap plug.

I love my local Advance. When I did plugs I effed up and broke one. I went back in to buy another and the guy was like, I'm not making you pay for another. Here take one. Another time I took some Wearever silver pads in to warranty them. They didn't have any silver for the car I was working on so they upgraded me to gold for free. The manager was like, "You've spent enough money in here over the years. It's the least I could do for you."

I ordered 6 plugs from them once but only got 4. Went back and obviously had no proof since I had already left and got home. He took my word for it and gave me 2.

2nd. New clutches and steels (2 over sized) brought it to about 0.035" The old minivan should have a real nice 1-2 shift.

Honestly? If you were local, I would love to. Building transmissions is fun. My first build paid for the tools. Well, the really important ones...

I'm actually jealous of how my father in laws trans feels compared to mine. (That's the one I built) I've tweaked some PCM settings on mine, and he's on a stock tune. What a difference a couple little internal changes makes.

No not local at all unfortunately. Mine just shifts slower the warmer it gets. Our impala needs an input clutch piston.

Oh trust me I've done just about everything a guy can do in a few years. Rebuilding an engine/trans isn't on the list though lol. I have been in there though, did the 4th clutch hub and solenoids.

Boobs holds the record for the number of transmission fixes on a single trans I think

I think when I do mine, I want to do a full rebuild (new clutches/steels/seals), 7/8" chain, 300m IS, do the superior valve body kit, superior AFL valve kit, sonnax TCC relief valve.... That's all I can think of right now.

I'm not even convinced I need the 300m, but hey, why not?

I've been through that dudes whole ride thread, and I don't remember seeing any trans work...

What did you have to do Booba?
