banning those who brought so much to the GP party ain't that bright a thing to do --- and it was when trannyman got the ax that I looked elsewhere. It took a little doing to find this place, but damn it's a damn sight more civilized here than that other place.
tip of the cap to the admins here --- and a wag of the MIDDLE finger to that other place.
cheers
Every forum has its flaws period. Although that blocking links thing is bull**** on ClubGP. Mike is just being a baby about the new forum. I've never been happy w/ who he banned either.
I go there as often as I do here, there are still alot of good and knowledgable people there. As long as it stays the way it is, i'll continue my membership. Been there since 2000.

I still go there, but it really erks me he would do such a thing...ban members, whatever...Its your prerogative if you don't like what they are posting (not saying his bans have been legit in the least), but blocking a site strictly because its a fellow GP site and you are too insecure about the competition....thats too much....that would be like me blocking links to here, clubgp, 3800pro, HPTuners, etc etc... on the DHP forum...why because they are "competition"...ITS RETARDED, Underhanded, and just plain Bad Business.
Well, thanks I guess....but don't have to. I just call them like I see them...and anyone who lets his site be moderated by some of the guys he hired, well.....you can see where I'm coming from.
He was a D-bag from the get go, he really didn't speak a word to anyone, stayed locked up in his room. The only people he really "bothered" speaking to was Chris, Mike from W-body, and Ed Morad. If you were really a prodigy like he thinks he is, then you would care about your public image and make it a point to make friends, not enemies. So on the SECOND day when he came from his throne room, I already made up my mind that he wasn't gonna be a God to me.
Not like he cared or anything. Right Mike?
^^^truer words have not been spoken...thats Mike to a "T"
Yeah I shopped around when I first picked up my GP for a forum to join. Didn't like GPWorld cuz all the red really fcked with my head. And some of the others are so full of advertising and junk that I can't focus on the community. Also they don't seem to like the social conversations that we all enjoy here. I've always been apart of a forum with every car I've owned and I have to say this is my favorite so far really cuz it's fun. I almost feel like I'm hanging out with some of you guys and kinda know you a bit. So Syn and the rest of you...Thanks and keep it up.
Hahahaha what a good story! Well lets see...... I was invited here, asked to help spread the word, some people didnt like the word, I get canned. I was honestly getting very tired of the biased crap there anyways and this site was a blessing in disguise for a lot of us. Farns got axed I think a week or so before me and after my banning late dec last year there was some wildfire hate that spread fast against that forum! Not sure if you guys saw the FrostyBalls chaos in tribute to us getting banned but I had tears in my eyes laughing over that mess! I really didnt even know who he was and then stumble into one the of the funniest moments on the internet! I was asked to join up at another GP forum which has since changed names and it was literally minutes before all of that action took place and I just happened to find a thread saying check out c gp 10PM sharp! Wow what a show! Many had no idea what was going on but holy crap what a stunt! If I can find the thread I will post the link, he did it another time or two and then the other forum even asked him to cool his jets and then he went into service.someone tell me the story about trannyman....
^^^^^ ah the memories!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ClubGP and NAIOA block connections that won't allow IP tracking. So the only site I can post on during the day at work is GPForums. I try to check NAIOA regularly, but it's a pain because of the tracking. Please DON'T enable it here!
I first joined the other site not knowing the BS which would follow. Found myself getting wrapped up in stupid arguments with ignorant punks. Seems no matter what you post there a backlash of negative comments follows your post. Either you get ignored and nobody wants to help you, OR you get bashed for asking a "stupid" question or bashed for the decision you did make. Found it to be a big waste of time. I only go there now to look for parts and to check my local section to keep in touch with a few people I know.
The site is full Of know it alls who actually know nothing. I've received wrong advice and wonder if it was intentional.
A fine example, a guy in our local chapter bought a GTO and posted he exchanged his P for an O. Instead of getting hey congrats comments he was bashed all to heck. from the color, to buying and LS1. How ignorant, an LS1 GTO is a step up from a V6 GTP. Geeze. At least here people are polite and will say " nice car or nice mod just not my cup of tea" if they dont like it.
There its " your a moron, GTOs suck a**, Dumba** shouldve bought an LS2, Red is a shi**y color." I mean? Club GP sucks!!! Worse forum I've ever been part of. A fine example why classic car clubs, vette clubs etc shun us as idoits. They give our cars/owners a bad reputation.
As the saying goes "the few ruin it for the many"
clubgp has become pure entertainment to me now. You want alot of BS and porn...go there. If you want people to help you with your hobby, I come here.
Well, I am going to throw in my $.02 here. I personally don't like the comment made about Mike. Now, don't get me wrong here, I am not sticking up for the guy. But I just don't like personal attacks and name calling. Not my cup of tea and don't like when people fall to that level.
With that said, I was very, very upset when Farns and Dave were banned from the site. I didn't visit for a couple months and considered never going back. But ClubGP does have a wealth of information from over the years that I often found myself going back to lookup old information. And now, I do post and help people out with their problems on a daily basis, where I can. In no way do I like CGP, but I tolerate it. The software is extremely buggy and outdated. And Mike has said he will fix it, but has not shown any interest in doing so, even though the site makes him a good amount of income.
But in the end, it is his site. Mike owns it. He can do what he wants with it. End of story. Yeah I still go there. Yes, I still post there. But my opinion of it is very low. Anymore, if I meet someone with a grand prix local or online, I always send them here for help. But CGP is still a good source of hard to find information and knowledge. But it is going downhill very quickly.
