My Mom has a 2006 Mazda 5 that's giving an air bag code 19. I have not the slightest clue what fault code 19 indicates. It just started doing it one day. Been doing it for a few now.

Google was basically no help since everyone says something different and I don't know who's right.

Anyway, this is a bit of stretch on a 3800 forum but it doesn't hurt to ask.

There should be more to that code then just a 19. It should be associated a "u" I think it is for what category the trouble code is originating from. Like engine codes start with p for PCM...

The cluster has an airbag light that flashes to give codes. Blink codes. ABS modules do the same thing on semi's

Hmm. I suggest using a scanner to pull the code. Sometimes extra codes show up that the self diagnosis doesn't display. I know my snap on scanner reads those codes but can't say for part store scanners.

We had a 2007 Mazda5 that had issues. If I were you, I would have her get rid of it. 2006 and 2007 had issues in the 5. 2008+ were better. We got rid of ours when it started acting up and nickel and diming us. If you need help go to Mazdas247.com

It seemed like every month something broke on it. Got tired of putting money in it and the payment on top of that. Does hers cup tires?

Doesn't cup them no. But the previous owner ran the wrong size tire and by the time it was said and done 3 of the 4 ended up with bubbled sidewalls and a bent wheel. We put a brand new set of the proper size on it and it's been okay since then.

The only REAL issue we've had is the trans died.
Everything else has been maintaince. It's got 103K. We've had to do struts all the way around. A bulb here and there. Remote batteries died. Piddly ****. The airbag light is the second real issue we've had

I don't all remember what happened to ours, but it cupped tires pretty damn quick. We got rid of it and bought a Chevy Venture that lasted us about 18 months before it popped a head gasket which led us to the GP we have now.
