In my opinion if the lt1 is on street tires and he gets to excited and floors it and if his OPTI is on its way out (and most of them are) then you prolly have a fair shot. Just dont "blow" the tires off and ease in to it.

Yeah i knew that to begin with but im talking about what if it has some minor bolt ons. I know for a fact i couldn't beat ls1's maybe when i get 1.9 rockers.

If you get someone with power on a street and has a heavy foot...you have a good chance even in a stock s/c grand prix. A friend of mine is running a 10.9 1/4mile on motor in his camaro. If he took it out on street tires he would just blow them off! lol. But just try to beat him see what happens!! keep me posted!!

Shouldn't have much of a problem with your setup against a mild bolt on LT1 car, assuming you're tuned good . I never had much trouble with less of a setup.

As for headers on an LT1, not sure what kinda gains they see with those.

The other day I drove/hot rodded a 95 Firebird Formula LT1/Auto car. It had a K&N, Hooker Headers, Fast TB, Ported Intake, Accell ignition box, etc. It was slower than **** IMO, then again comparing it to my vehicles isn't a fair comparision, I haven't had a stock GTP for a long time. Also, in its defense, in its 102,000 mile lifetime I think it always had the **** driven out of it...

You have him covered. by a few cars. LT1's are low end grunt, and have no topend. unless you drop money on a cam, milled heads, and a PCM for Less tune.

I'd say he would be a mid-high 14sec car..... possibly traping at 100?

I cannot stand Opti sparks. now going witht he LTCC setup, or making your own crank trigger system.... I would buy another.

ive raced two before my headers. one had a catback on it atleast. i stayed right on his butt. he pulled maybe a foot. it was the 6 speed also. the second one was an ss (i dident know they made ss's with the lt1's) and he had atleast full exhuast (with headers) and a tune of some kind cause he was puffin exhaust when he hit it and i could smell gas. well he pulled out on me by a couple of cars. im sure with your mods i would have walked all over them.

like stated before there not that fast. i dont think your going to run away from him but you should have him
