Slow today, though guess it puts me at the fastest so far.![]()
You don't want to know.........you REALLY don't want to know.
Ok, yea you do (well, maybe you do, who knows)
And...
So yea, I'm pretty sure that I'm the hands down winner of this contest.

Ok, those were staged a bit but here is what I've really got lol
And...
Again, not too impressive.....
But if anyone wants to compare specs of their actual PC's (not internet speeds) bring it.![]()
Yea, I realize the connection (or lack thereof) between internet speed and physical computer hardware speed, but I still like to think I've got a semi-decent computer.....even if the internet is below crap.
Don't know if you're big into CPU-Z, but here is a link to most of my system specs.

If you want other info I can give it to ya.
I don't see any solid state drives in you guys lists. You would benefit a lot from one. Less than 10 second boot up times to Windows desktop possible. No lag from old mechanical drives, with nearly instant seek times. Best bang for the buck I spent on the PC. Use the mechanical drives for storage.
You don't want to use them for the storage. I set them up for the Operating System and any programs. Blink of an eye and Microsoft Word is open. You then use your mechanical drive for storage. Have the best of both worlds. Think of it as dual charging with a supercharger and turbo except much simpler.
They also have alot higher shock resistance which is good for laptops.

I wouldn't get that one, $500 is crazy. I recommend a 60-120GB size. That should be plenty for running programs. The 60 GB Mushkin one I got months ago is now $114. Newegg has 120 GB ones now for about $170. Again, you use the mechanical drive or whatever else for storage. Especially for laptop it's the way to go as they use much less power (no moving parts). They're the same size as the standard laptop HD, but they come with adapter mounts for your desktop PC. NegativeOne's laptop is probably a screamer.
I'm on my work computer now, but pretty much the same specs as my home desktop. E8400 FTW! Running Win7 x64 and 8GB on my home desktop though.

I'll post up my laptop when I get home.
