Except for the fact that the G6 they use for those races is RWD..... If you watch, it spins the back tires when it takes off from the pits
And rotorys are one of those things that are great in theory, but don't work as well in real life, the Rotary in the mazda 8 gets worse gas mileage than most V8's......and engine rebuilds every 80k don't help either(But piston rings last 300k+ in standard(4 - cycle) motors, so I'm sure with the right investment they could find a way to do it......but it'll probably burn a lot of oil still)
