Our 08 GT is running Dex and has 23K on the clock, should I change it with the universal stuff or have they improved it. I am inclined to keep it but I would like some advice.
My expreriance with the GM engines and their coolents.
1989 Lesabre 3800 S1 60K to 327K with no leaks and the gaskets looked fine when I tore it down. went through 2 water pumps. (green stuff)
1993 Bonnie 3800 S1 92K to 128K (totaled) I saved the engine and sold it to a sand rail guy. He tore it down and said that the rear head gasket was leaking a tiny bit. (green stuff)
1991 GMC 1500 350 V8 104K now has about 200k on it, No leaks, needs a valve job though. (green stuff)
1995 Delta 88 80k head gaskets failed engine hydro locked, Used 1997 engine installed with 64K on it. That engine failed in the same way at approx 85K (green stuff) mother in law shut it down before hydro locking this time.
Replaced gaskets and it is now in my brothers posession he says it runs ok.
1998 Sunfire 2.4L 20K to 104K No problems except the ALT and rear wheel hub issues. (DEX)
1989 Lesabre T-Type 3800 S1 89k to 128K No leaks no problems on tear down head and intake gaskets looked perfect. (Green stuff) ( pulled engine for a turbo swap.)
