So today I had the day off of work. I was looking online for Camaros around my town. I used to have a Camaro (and a WS6 for one week) before my GTP. I really have missed the car.

Anyway im looking at this 94 Z28 (LT1 Motor). Its about $6500. Not too bad...
This thing was modded to hell. And it was done pro. Best of all it was a 6 speed. Heres the list of mods:

SLP intake -Holley Twin 58 Throttle body -Ported intake manifold - Trick Flow Roller Rockers - Trick Flow pushrod guide plates - Manley PushRods - Ford Racing 30 Ib Injectors -MSD Opti-Spark -MSD Wires -Pace Setter Long tube headers - Custom Dual Random Cat Y-Pipe - Hooker Cat-Back Exhaust
    From what I saw was:

    Headers
    Nice CAI
    MSD Ignition setup
    Sway Bar
    Performance tires 30% Life
Exhaust (Sounded nice, not LOUD as hell)
    Short Shift

A few other things here an there. As you can see from the mod list it sounds pretty beefy.

Well I take it for a spin. Im expecting a tough pulling car. Maby similar to a corvette?

The car did not move like I thought. I pulling through first through third and dont get me wrong, it moved, but it was not pulling like I thought. Damn LT1's!! There crap compared to the LS1. So was doing about 45 and sitting in third (about 3500 RPM), and I go to WOT. It gets real loud and starts to move. Not the back pushing neck breaking pull I expected. I couldnt believe it.

The funniest thing is I know how my GTP pulls. If you catch it in the right gear it will pull like no tmw. My GTP would give it a run for its money. Top end it would lose for sure, but form 0-70 it would pull it. If it would loose it would loose by NO MORE than a car's length. I was so let down!!!

So here the catch. There asking 6500. My car is an 01 GTP 2DR mint, with 71K on it. Mods = cai, but original can be put back in.

I tell em I want an even trade (im NOT looking to purchase this car at all). Im just there for fun and to see what they would do. This car would be a HUGE downgrade. No heated seat, HUD, Leather, chrome rims, nice tires with good life,... Supercharger!, Lower miles, FWD = good in rain and snow, and no rust. I could go on all day.

They come back to me after talking with each over (i think they were in there office throwing paper airplanes) and tell me they will only give me $4500 for my car. GTFO. I told the punk that this car would sell in a heart beat. That POS Camaro has been on your lot for over 3 months (it has, ive seen it on cars.com for a long time).

In the end the manager tells me to go sell it on the street and come back to him to buy the car. Bastard. Let me see.... 01 GTP 2DR w/71K for a 94 Z28 Camaro with 91K on it + 3K... Hmmmm How about NO!

Here is a link to the cars info:

    Cars.com: 1994 Chevrolet Camaro Z28

Long story short. My GTP pwns that Camaro.

EDIT*** LOL! Please notice how there is SNOW in the picture.... Well it has not snowed yet in Chicago this season... That means the car has been there since spring and summer and now coming close to the end of fall... lol

    I dont see a built LT1. I see a patched up LT1.

IT has a bone stock bottomend. only rockers and exhaust....as performance mods. IT still has an optispark setup. In my mind it is junk. ( I HATE OPTISPARKS!).

It would be no better than a HIGH HIGH HIGH 13, if not bottom 14.

Dont trade your car in. it is A LOT more reliable than an LT1.

No way..Keep your car. You've got all the potential you need for mods, and a much more reliable car. Plus in my opinion the GP's are so much more comfortable to ride in..esp long trips. Sexier too. At least you know now that your not missing out on that Camaro.

    Conflicting statements.

You are basically looking at an LT1 with bolt-ons: headers, exhaust, intake, and roller-rockers. If the car is not properly set up for the 30lb injectors, which I am sure it does not need, that could actually be hurting it.

Lol yeah kinda funny. I wanted to see what u guys thought about it.

I agree it would run high 13's.

And yes LT1's do suck. I would not trade in my car for that pos. I was just messing around.

All the LT1 love, awesome. The mods done to that car are junk, sounds like some high school kid just Ebay'd junk parts for it. Keep your car, it is much more reliable than an LT1 anyday. My car needs a rebuild with only 96k on it. Dave can tell you we've have more problems with my car than it's worth sometimes lol, but I like it, so I've kept dumping money into it.

i couldnt agree more on the injectors they prolly thought they would need them to support there modds and have no clue that you need to adjust to run them (its not like a carbureted engine). that thing is proly running really rich, oh one last thing arnt the gtp injectors 33 lbs?
99 Grand Prix old build- CAI, Custom exhaust, HV3, Stage 2 TB, custom tune, ported heads intense s1x cam, headers.

Yea there honestly isn't much done to that LT1. They are very slow imo. It takes a 150 shot to keep up with a bolt-on LS1.
