I was looking at getting a short barrel shotgun, but put that on hold since I decided I needed a battery impact more. LOL

Cool picture ^ worked well since it was in low lighting.

So I haven't posted here since I took my CPL class
    Bought a S&W M&P shield chambered in 9mm, Glock 27, and a Kahr cw380.

Haven't shot the kahr yet, was failure to fire out of the box, and am considering just selling it. It was repaired at no charge to me by kahr but that puts a bad taste in my mouth with something I'd trust my life with. The shield and of course the Glock were perfect out of the box.

I've been carrying the glock in a pancake style holster, that setup makes it too easy. I have a iwb holster for the shield which is great too.
Oddly still haven't bought a .22 rifle for plinking, but that's next

kahr uses pretty women to sell guns, since they are both slim. I had a ruger lcp 380, that gun was garbage. every gun I've ever owned I have been able to group with, but not the LCP, I would lump a kahr 380 in the same boat as the LCP. the only good thing about the LCP is that it was small and easy to conceal. I'll take a full frame .45 all day long.

iirc that is a 44, he shoots 357 shells in it cause they are cheaper. all i know is everything else he owns feels like a kids toy in my hands. and hes got more than i know about these days. last we talked guns he was buying a larger safe for them lol

he even got a CC permit last year. im willing to bet hes yet to carry. just asked for it and was given it. i think he just wanted to have for the sake of having it.

Yeah I bought the .380 for carrying in a situation that I otherwise wouldn't carry on my belt or in my waistband due to the clothing I had to wear in any particular situation. I figured this was better than nothing. For a while I just wished I had bought the bodyguard instead.

I shoot the shield really well, pretty impressed with it considering what they cost after the rebate. The glock will take a bit more time to master, one less finger on the grip, plus being 40 caliber.

I don't carry anymore, but still have the permit. I just leave it under the seat in the car. I don't think it matters much what you carry as long as the bullet is bigger than a .380 and you are very proficient with that gun. when you practice, practice realistically, most gunfights take place within something like 10 feet.

you can't shoot .44 shells in a .357, it's got to be .38 special that he was talking about

I love mine. Only complaint is they changed the slide lock at some point, it's hard to release the slide with it, if that really matters. Nearly impossible to when the gun is new. Mine has gotten easier, but it seems intentional. I just pull the slide back and release like, I guess you're supposed to.

I've shot the S&W shield a bit more, the slide lock is loosening up more and I can release the slide with the slide lock lever now. Not that I usually do that, just nice to have the option. The Kahr on the other hand is supposed to be operated like that.

Speaking of the Kahr, I took it to the range to (try) to fire it for the "first" time. This time it worked, but it should considering Kahr replaced the whole slide and all components. I put about 200 rounds through it without one hiccup, with 3 different types of ammo. I tried blazer, Remington, and Winchester. I saved the 4th type for last after the break in period. Federal HST Jacketed hollow points. That was the only ammo the Kahr didn't like. Which is why I'm glad I tested it. Oddly that ammo kept causing the slide to lock back. It always happened about halfway through a magazine. I'll just carry Winchester ammo in it, being a .380 penetration might be a weak point anyway. It's a flat nosed round.

The ONLY hollow point I've been able to reliably feed through my Kahr CW380 is Hornady Critical Defense. Or some other off brand round using the Hornady bullet. That Kahr is so short, and the ramp is so steep, it needs a very small diameter hollow point. Otherwise... Jam-O-matic. They cost a little more, but they work every time.

The combination of feeding issues, and what I've read on .380 ballistics, I'm going to carry flat point fmj rounds in it. Very rare I carry this anyway. Seems very reliable with fmj rounds, shoots pretty nice too. I'm regretting buying it less since I've shot it. If only .380 cost the same as 9mm, I'd shoot it more often.

    Interesting read

Brand new, haven't shot it yet but I really like it so far. Fits my hand perfect. I like the sights, which came from the factory. Ameriglow night sight. I actually broke it all the way down and cleaned their oil and copper lube out, and used my own preferred stuff.

Received a Mossberg 535 full camo turkey gun last week from a gun raffle. Not a bad way to spend $20. Haven't shot it yet, but I want to buy a slug barrel for it before gun season.
