I'm sure most of you that saw and posted in my previous thread about my CB antenna I mounted will remember I had it up on the roof rack. (As Seen Below)

However like I, and some of you had first thought, it was in a good spot to be broken off. However I honestly don't see how it happened becuase I tried to break it again after I had removed it and it was impossible. I had to get bolt cutters to chop it in half. Thats aside the point though, it broke, so I removed it, now here's what I got.

A 1/4 Wave Whip Antenna mounted onto the rear bumper. Had to re-route the cable a little and modify another I had laying around so that it would be able to connect to the mounting point on the whip antenna as well as have another wire branching off so that it could be grounded as well.

I'm very happy with the new set-up. Very easy to get to either from underneath the back bumper or straight through the light mounted in it. Even though it's mounted on the bumper however it is still taller than the previous antenna that was mounted up on the rack so it does hit things, but has no problem bending completley backwards to prevent it from grabbing a hold. Much better range too.

That looks good too. That's where I had mine mounted on my S-10 and signal was excellent.

I have one in my gtp. Antenna isnt on right nob but i have one. Just a nice warrior on a 4 inch mag with a groud plane. Nothin special but works great for me when i use it. Gtuffed it between the center console and drivers seat then used a universal L bracket 1 screw in the side of the center console thats it. Use the side screw on the radio to hold it in place. I can take a pic an post up next time im home. Doesn't look bad imo an the atenna doesnt look bad either.

LR install looks pretty good i'd rather have the bumper location too with a big steel whip like that. Ha considered puttin one on my gp but then i was like wtf am i thinkin thats way too big for my gp. Centerloaded 4ft whip is plenty.

    Looking good Street Wolf.

I'd like to see pics of your setup on your GP speedemongtp. I've been wanting to put one in mine for years, I had one nice setup in my 93 GP and I still have it in storage. The CB is small enough to fit where the ash tray is, so mounting wouldn't be an issue. Its the antenna. I had a Tram 46" Steel Whip on my GP, it looking good though because I had it matched up to my other antenna on the opposite fender. I had so much fun with that thing, at the time all my friends had them. My CB was peaked and tuned by a local CB Wiz, I had a power mic too. Man I miss that thing, especially on road trips!

Alright ill be home around thanksgiving ill pull it outta the trunk an put it on an snap a pic for you. I dont leave it on while i'm at school cause i cover my car keeps it lookin slightly clean still when i get home instead of bein terribly dirty. I have a peaked an tuned Cobra 29 Black chrome edition it looks nice where i've got it and my car has kinda formed itself into a black an blue theme unintentionally but now i'm goin with it. The really cool thing about mine is it has the blue illumination so it makes it flow even better. What kinda power mic were you runnin? I've been lookin at getting one. Was thinkin prob a roadking. If not that maybe an astatic

I am interested in this as well, I was thinking of putting a roof mount at the back of the roof in the center. I put a magnet mount up there just to see what it would be like and the sunroof cleared it and all.

I tried the roof an it blew over but thats cause my antenna didnt have enough flex for the mag to be able to hold it up. i have a diff antenna now that stays up cause it has some flex but i put it on my trunk. I'm gonna be takin some pix of it this weekend to post up for ironindian so you can check them out when i get um posted.

sorry for the reflection on the mount picture its because my radio is black chrome. if you cant tell its just one screw going into the side of the center console and then i used the side thumb screw to attach the radio to the bracket
