Little Falls teen shooting deaths called 'cold-blooded? | StarTribune.com

I agree that he has the right to proctect himself, I would have shot too. But he continued to shoot and executed them. I feel he took it a step too far. What do yall think?

When your life if threatened you pull the trigger until the one threatening you can no longer threaten anyone else. The kids should have been brought up to respect people's property and not broken into the guys house. If they had done that they would still be alive.

Is breaking and entering punishible by death? No. But you do have the right to defend your property. I think that if he would have first fired a shot to warn them then my guess is they would have high tailed it out of there and would still be alive. If they would have come closer then I would understand shooting them to stop them and if they pulled a weapon then I could see him shooting to kill. I think that if he only shot them like once or twice each and then they died I could understand that but I think he did get a little carried away. I could see how that could be a spur of the moment decision to kill them because if he was scared he probably wasn't thinking logically. I do not think that he should be locked up for a long time though. I mean they broke into his house and very well could have been armed. They should have never been there anyways. It's a sad story for all those involved though. I can honestly picture myself on either side of this situation and am glad that I do not have to go through all this.

This. Those kids took that chance when they decided to break into someones house and try to rob him. He had no way of knowing that they weren't armed.

Break into someones house you deal with the outcome. Unless you were in that guys shoes its no telling what you would have done especially if he had a issue before with breakins etc.

This guy pretty clearly is a little socially retarded. Two people break into your home and you kill them. And just... hold on to the bodies for a day or two?
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.

    **** yes...

We don't play those games around here. You come into my house 2 people will be carrying you out.... in a body bag. I feel no sympathy for someone who breaks into a house and gets shot. They are getting what comes to them, and hopefully that will be a lesson to other teenegers in the area. Although I find it rather odd he didn't call the police immediately even if he didn't want to bother them.

There was actually a story in the news yesterday with a break-in similar to this. Needless to say the teeneger is in critical condition and not expected to make it. +1 for eliminating society's burden. 1 less cell my tax dollars will have to pay.

I actually remember a story from not too long ago where some teenagers knocked an old man (I think in his 60's) off his bicycle while biking on a rail trail. The man was carrying and when he got to his feet he shot them, killing one.

He was not charged with any kind of crime. The way it should be.

There's a certain amount of retardedness in the entire story that makes me want to put that town out in the middle of the ocean.
    1. After hearing shots and not seeing the guy come back, the girl goes down the stairs.
    2. Clearly there were enough break ins etc that this guy planned on putting an end to them, he doesn't call the cops.
    3. Neighbors don't think anything of 4-5 gun shots on Thanksgiving. Don't try and say ... they weren't home, cause they were.
    4. This guy is clearly spending Thanksgiving alone
    5. The stupid ahole reporter says this guy finished his Tday while the families were greiving, uh no.. that's sensationalism. The families clearly didn't know where the kids were at that time. And if the intellectuals that raised these two had any clue..the kids would have been celebrating with them instead of robbing an old guy.
    6. Guy shoots the kids and tells the cops, I kept shooting to put them outta their misery. The guy saw the Dirty Harry and Charles Bronson movies. Don't doubt that.

Is any of it justified....no. It's dumb, stupid and rediculous from the start. Plus..what if the second person was a neighbor coming to check on you after hearing shots... they'd be shot too. He didn't wait to even see the kids, just their legs.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

You guys are forgetting something, they'd still be alive if they didn't break into his house. Far as I'm concerned this is a good thing. You can all sit here and say what you'd do or what is right but until you yourself is thrust into that position you have no idea how you would react.

Also if you shoot them and they live what would stop them from exacting some revenge on you in the future?

On a side note that chick was pretty hot.

Any neighbor worth having uses my ******* doorbell, not sneaks in through a window. Good riddance.

I'll put it like this...I live alone in the middle of nowhere. If someone breaks into my home, the only warning they get is the sound of me loading one into the chamber. If they don't run like hell, I WILL put them down. I'm not about to have some douchebag kid possibly taking my life over some random stuff. Also, it shouldn't be on the general taxpayers to have to board and feed these idiots. People make mistakes...that is for certain, but they should've known the repercussions of their actions...just like anyone else who breaks the law or threatens a life in some way. My big question is where were these kids' parents in all of this? What kind of kids are they raising and why were they not sterilized instead of being allowed to breed? Castration should have been in order I'm sure.,

Seems like the town is making these kids out to be "good" kids, I say bullsh1t. Yes, in Texas we don't f**k around, you break in there is a 50/50 chance your gonna die. During last summer while me and the family where out, someone broke into my house and took all my electronics. The result of that is a now my family is paranoid and we have an alarm costing me $74 a month. When I get out of the Army and away from Louisiana the alarm system will be me and a .45. If you break in my house you ain't walking out. Those kids got what they deserve. The parents should have taught them better.
