I was just wondering if anyone on here does any hunting? I hunt deer, turkey, prairie dogs and pheasants each year. On saturday I am going Antelope hunting for the first time. I found out Sunday night that I could go so I spent tonight getting my stuff put together. I am going with a few people that my dad works with and that I have hunted with quite a bit. We are leaving at 3 on saturday morning for the 2 1/2 hour drive.

    I have a 7X57 Mauser rifle that I use.

    Wish me luck

Kind of a newbie to it, but I've been turkey hunting three times and love it. I've shot two birds, the biggest being 24lbs. with an 11" beard and 1" spurs. I went deer hunting one time years ago and shot a 7 point. Didn't really get into it and never went again. Although I have been thinking of going again if I find a decent buy on a rifle.

I inherited my 12 gauge I use for turkey. It was my grandfather's gun. It's a J.C. Higgins pump with a wild looking choke on the end. Looks like a big flash suppressor and a lot of people are like when I get it out. But it shoots a great pattern and has no problem dropping turkey even with a 2-3/4" shell. I use turkey loads with 4 shot.

Edit: Here's the my old J.C. Higgins.

I hunt duck, goose, deer, rabbit, and some pheasant. I use a benelli super nova for deer and bird hunting, i also have a winchester defender for a pushing gun for deer because of its light weight. If you think your higgins looks goofy you should seen my defender it has an extremely short barrel with an 8 shot tube ending flush with it and it sounds like a cannon when fired.

I hunt small game, like Toyotas, Hondas, Nissans, etc. Not very tasty, but very fun to kill.

    Most usually have enough rice.

I also have a Remington 870 Express Super Mag that I use for a turkey and pheasant gun. I have a Ruger 10/22 and that is a fun little gun.

Oh man you guys are killin me, I haven't been able to hunt for the last couple of years due to being stationed here in Texas. I miss deer hunting back at home......the cold......the snow......the quiet......hunting buddies......hunting stories. I miss the whole package!!

My Marlin 3030 is the perfect deer rifle.

I stoped hunting when someone bought the land I used to hunt on and turned it into a zoo (literally).

Big hunter here. I hunt anything from squirrels to deer bear turkey and everything in between. Its nice when you make friends in a small country town and they have unhunted farmland. I use my Ruger 10/22 for small game, my 870 express super mag for turkey ducks geese and deer and my T/C encore for just about everything.
