Answer is: whatever results in the best UOA for your vehicle.

How to get there? Try them and have the oil tested afterwards.

Some people actually prefer second tier oils to top tier. For example: Pennzoil platinum to ultra.

There are reasons, but they matter more or less dependent on your vehicle as well as how and where you drive it.

Fully synthetic oil: Royal Purple, Amsoil, Mobil 1, Castrol Edge. All synthetic and are suv take 5w-20, and i want to use the best cause my bro and i will try to do an oil change our selfs. if we can do it then it would be great so we can change oil ourselves and save that much money.

Also we bought a K&N Oil filter for the change since it was buy 1 get 1 free and its the K&N performance gold filter. Are they really good and aer these just as good if i want to use these oil filters for future oil changes:

Royal purple, Mobil 1, K&N, and Napa Gold Oil filters.

Are doing the oil changes that easy and simple, just unscrew the bolt for the oil and let it all drain out in a oil pan, when it drains all out then take out the oil filter. Let it drain the rest and then change the oil filter, plug back up the bolt and then pour in the new 6 quarts of oil and thats it? Are they any other things to do or tools needed, is there something i shoukld not do that may cause harm to the car when doing the change? Is that all it takes to change the oil and thats what im paying 60$ for?

    Thanks in advance BTW!

So you need to do research on BOITOG.

All you're going to get from this thread is conjecture.

I got it to make sure i get that gasket off, also ya ill have the pan right under it as close as i can get it. Also the filter needs to be hand tight yes when you put it in but when its time to take it out you just unscrew with your hand right? So what is the wrench off thing mean on the K&N oil filter? So ya you think is should like take some oil on my finger and rub a little on the gaskets and ring of the filter? And ya pour some oil into the filter and THEN screw it in to the car hand tight?

I am still a noob at this stuff so ya what is BOITOG? I heard of a thread called BOB the oil guy, is that forum worth it to check out? I have looked for a Chrysler Aspen forum for our SUV and there is only one which is pretty much a Ghost town and boring and well no one there at all and dang the GPF looks 20x better if not 50x better and more active as well. So pretty much that place was no help to me at all. Sad a this forum is more help than that one is.

To be on topic, so that pretty much an oil change that i can do myself every time i need to with just regular hand tools? And save money from paying other people to do it?
