Did the Oil change yesterday, and did pretty good too. Seems to run fine and a lot more smoother with the M1 oil and sounds good too. It took us a while longer Cause the bolt for the oil was stuck on there good so it took forever to get it out. I think they torqued it in but we got it out and tightened it enough so we can open it again. Pretty easy to do the oil change, dont know why we pay to get it done when we can do it ourselves. Its so easy to change the oil that a cave man can do it.

Told you I said this on page two haha. Congrats you just saved money and used quality oil for less than a regular oil change at a lube shop. Good Job.

    Ya i know, Thanks.

Hey but i got one last ?, our Suv is at 71,xxx miles. On our next oil change should we just keep using the Mobil 1 Extended Performance Synthetic or switch to something for high mileage? Mobil 1 high mileage does not have it for ours which is 5w-20. Is that Mobil 1 Extended Performance ok for high mileage or no? Also we set it that we change the oil every 7k miles, as good milestone or what?

OR should i use the regular Mobil 1 Synthetic oil at high mileage instead of the EP or a High Mileage oil? I'm thinking if we do have to use High Mileage oil then to use it after like 90k miles. What do you guys think?

Also what about Pennzoil Ultra or Platinum, Should we switch to one of those for High Mileage Synthetic oil? Is the ultra better than the Mobil 1 extended performance, if both are good then tell me so i can cant the one on sale.

Thanks again guys, just helped us same some money.

EDIT: About the Pennzoil ultra and platinum, which one is better for 5w-20 Gasoline engine and should we use the Ultra instead of Mobil 1 EP? Or is the Platinum the same as Ultra?

EDIT: I cant find Ultra around here in autozone, pepboys, walmart, etc. Stores only sell platinum. So is Pennzoil Platinum Better than the Mobil 1 Extended performance for higher mileage on my SUV?

Pick a brand and stick with it, don't bother thinking about switching because its pretty much all the same. And I personally don't like penzoil at all.

And high mileage is just words, sure there might be 1-2 very slighty differences in the oils make-up, but its all the same junk. I wouldnt even call 90k miles, high miles either, let alone 120k or even 140k.

Regular intervals between oil changes is the key, not the brand of oil.

Gotcha, ok ill just stick with Mobil 1 Extended performance. Ill also use it in any other car i get, like the GP or something. So is changing this Mobil 1 oil every 7k miles ok, and i can use this way past 100k miles right? (My suv is a Gasoline engine 4.7l V8 Chrysler Aspen)

So this Mobil 1 oil is pretty good i think, so you guys think i should just stick with it for any Automobile i get?

This whole thread w/ SF9777 was just so adorable to read. It was like a children's story and you all opened his eyes to the world of doing your own maintenance. He had some tough decisions to make along the way w/ oil brand and filter brand, but everything worked out in the end and his car lived happily ever after w/ oil and filters.

lol, I'm not trying to troll, but this was just so cute - I had to say something.
