I truly like sprint. As i go through easily 10gigs of data per month

iirc, the reason their service was sucking is they lost tons of money due them buying out a ton of WiMax towers thinking that 4g would work on phones.

I haven't heard good things about Sprint either, Verizon like he said I have heard is just pricey. We have been with AT&T since like 1990 or something? Maybe before that, it was when it was Bellsouth (I think Bellsouth actually bought out the first company, I may be wrong) but we've been around the block with them. They have their fall backs, but coverage is our main thing. We're a road trip family and so that's important. And so far I've yet to have service problems when I need it in a tight spot when I'm traveling.

And while the savvy people are in the chat, and not to thread jack Austin, but is there a reason 3gs was awesome when it was new but now that I'm on my 3rd 3gs they suck? Glitchy is what I mean. Is it that when they put something new out the quality of the older ones go down? Just curious here.

What phone and plan do you have? I thought sprint had a data cap?

No one in Iowa likes Sprint. Coverage out here is ****. I have maybe 1 Sprint Kiosk in my town, and one small store. Everyone out here is on either Verizon or US Cellular.

Well if that's the case then screw AT&T. Just need to figure out the coverage available now

But who knows how long they will stay truly unlimited. All carriers used to offer true unlimited, but there's too much Money to be made in data usage really.

Even if they do eventually put a data cap in place I bet it'd be higher than the other carriers

Not really, T-Mobile has a unlimited option and some more competition is coming out. T-mobile is also upgrading their towers to LTE also.

Your going to get diff results/answers from everybody cuz we all live in diff coverage areas. What works great for one person is gonna not work at all for someone else in a diff area. I personally have verizon, ive tried everything else in the past and stuck with what worked the best for me. Yeah, i wish the plan wasnt so expensive, but thats my only gripe. I dont have any issues with verizon.

With the on slaught of good phones came much more data usage than the carriers planned on. Many are using wifi spots to entice and help service/speed issues. They all did a reasonably priced data plan to entice us to use data and learn to love it. At the moment, sure they are all raising and capping. Soon enough though.. I can see prices falling again as there are a ton of no contract places springing up to meet the demand for lower cost phones and plans. Heck..I heard a couple on the radio this morning.

As for coverage. When the i5 came out, there was a ton of articles on CNN etc about it, coverage, plans etc. A lot of good info actually. You might want to search for the 4G LTE map they had on CNN. It was supposedly done by an independent and it was eye opening. Verizon has most of the country well blanketed, AT&T is second...but not so great and Sprint/Tmobile were barely dotting the main cities.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

tmobile has a 2gig cap before throttling begins, ask me how i know? went through a bunch of bs with a buddy. att has there caps before you pay with no throttle unless your in the top 10% of users, sprint does not have a cap but the slowest speed around. Personally, i would reveiw coverage of your area and price comparison and go from there.

    False
i just ordered the 5 a week and half ago and I'm still grandfathered in with AT&T. The only thing I'm having to pay is a $36 one time upgrade fee.

Same here I've had grandfathered unlimited for years kept it through several different iPhones and androids. Now I have the 5. The data throttle sucks but I usually have a wifi connection the majority of the time that I'm online with my phone.

See now I have no wifi to use so im always using the netork evertime i'm on the phone. I use about 5 gigs a month.

Ok here is exactly how Verizon lists the plan, "EVERYTHING UNL TALK & TEXT 6GB" I picked 6 gb. So if I understand this I would have unlimited talking and txt+up to 6 gb of data.
