So you guys think the SS impala/ GXP Grand prix ok daily driver car? the way i drive is just regular normal driving then start racing random people on the street next to me at a light. either way i would take car of my car and maintain it well. So are they ok cars to have or should i research other cars. right now im really liking those cars but just dont want problems with it every singe time.

What cars would you guys suggest that fits a low budget and is a great reliable car 4 door great mpg and is pretty quick and good aftermarket support for modding later on. The only cars that come to my mine is the GP GTP, Impala ss, subarus, and something else i cant remember. Oh and also one that wont kill me in insurance. Thanks for all your guys help too

New V6 mustangs are nice. 305 hp and 31mpg highway lol. But a g8 would be premo. Could always get the v6 model.

G8 v6 is fine if you want timing chain issues.

Ford 3.7 is too new to know if it is going to have any long term issues.

    Also mustang is two door.

There is hardly any gxp/ss aftermarket. Even the 3800 aftermarket isnt that great.

Gxp would be fine with a trans cooler. But its still a gm w body.

With the warranty that comes with them long term shouldn't be a problem. You could try and find a used Taurus sho as well? The newer version that is. Even the base should be able to haul pretty good. I would think the lfx engine would be a decent engine.

The 3.7 Stang is pretty cool and would be perfect IF it was a 4 door. The G8 GT is the car i always wanted to get it is perfect but the price is the only thing halting me from getting it. The impala loosing to the new stang with those mods is sad but i how would it fair stock vs stock?

Other than that what other cars do you guys suggest, The g37 i looked up and its expensive and for that price i rather get the G8. Would you guys suggest the GTP 04+ over the GXP/SS impala, like would the GTP modded be able to beat the SS/GXP (Also modded) and maybe even that Stang on that youtube vid?

Bet it is still faster than half our cars lol. Losing to a new V6 stang is nothing to be ashamed of. Those things haul ass. Trust me, my family owns one and I have driven it a plenty. G8 GT you can find in the 17k to 20k range. So the price is not completely ridiculous. BuBut why do you guys think newer engines having lower torque would be so bad? BMW is doing it in there M series and last I checked they are still badass. Ferrari is doing it now as well with there V8's. High HP with low torque.

Actually the new base V6 is a turd.

    Think like mid 16's.

Slow as if not slower than everyone here...minus the pre-gen or SE guys.

And you find me a G8 GT for 17-20k that hasn't been beating or driven to sh1t and back; they are keeping, if not increasing in value. And Ferrari is doing it now? They've been doing that since day one...only reason they are such good track cars...low TQ, rev happy million HP.

He means the base V6 Taurus. It's the basic 3.5 that puts out maybe 250hp in a heavier platform. They only get fast when you grab the SHO package. I'll vouch for the speed of my '13 Mustang 3.7 :P
    '13 Stang - V6 MT82 - GHIG
    '00 Grand Prix SE - Pink (L67 Swapped/XP Cam/3.25")
'98 Grand Prix GTP - Black ($500 toy with broken trans. )
'01 Bonneville SE - Sitting on a hillside needing attention

    Yep.

4500lbs of car with only 260hp to pull it makes for scary passing.

I think the IMHO the only mustang that is badass is the new and old 5.0 mustangs.

I guess ill post a thread later on in the future like months and months from now about which car to get for my first car that i own, for now ill research cars adn see what i can find.

Just answer me this all you guys here in the GPF, a Grand prix GXP with all the mods that there are out there for it the CAI, Headers, all the bolt on and aftermarket mods there are for it, installed on the car how fast could it be? Can it reach a high 12 sec car and still be a N/a V8? And if is there a S/C or a turbo that can be installed into the GXP GP? Plus you guys say it still has that same weak trans so stock can the cars trans handle the power or will it break, and with full bolt ons can it handle that too? If the trans is that weak like you guys say thats what stops me form getting the GXP, i test drove it once and it was bad ass but its only a test not mine to keep forever.

Trans will become an issue in pretty much any car when you add significant power and drive it like a racekar.

You want a nice 4 door that can be quick? Find a 04 Regal LS, put on a turbo and built tranny. Probably could be done on a $12,000 budget if you have the labor done by a shop and including buying the car with some left over for repairs.

Kinda pricey, but cheap compared to buying a G8.

I did forget to mention the SVTs too but i dont know much about the old bosses, though the bullet was ok i guess.

Well i wont be driving it like a race car, when you guys say race car i think driving it like NASCAR or Fast and the Furious style. I will drive it like a normal car and only time i will put even half throttle or might even use less is to pass people on the road or freeway. BUT i will be every now or then from light to light find people to face in a straight maybe even cutting off people here and there.
BOTTOM LINE i wont beat it to hell like other people would.

So ya when it comes time for me to buy a car ill let you guys know to help me out. Thanks for all the info here about the Impala and i will be steering clear of the new impala since it is not as good as you people say it is.

Also have you looked at the new Regal GS or new Lacrosse AWD? Pretty nice looking cars with some power.
