That is proper marketing. One of the main things discussed on topgear is engine sound.

Didn't exactly fall out of my chair laughing, but I thought it was funny. I couldn't believe BMW actually bought into that crap, too..you'd think they could just do something with the exhaust.

Yeah, if you've got to make your car sound good with a speaker, you're doing something wrong.

this is why i hate new cars....ill drive late 90's early 2000's cars forever lol
