I want to get one.
Got an old emaxx, nicad batteries and pull out antenna type remote. Not even brushless.
Stuff has changed a lot in 10 years.
I have a couple of super cheap ones that are fun to play around with with my son and nephew.
I recently sold this one.
Kyosho Tr-15 Stadium Force snow RC - YouTube
RCVs were very important to me in the past, and I plan to pick up the hobby again. I love 4WDs but planes are a lot of fun too.
Yeah, the electrics can be faster than nitros. The electric throttle response is unbelievable. Even Kyosho Mini-Z's are a shitload of fun. Such an expensive hobby.
I have a Schumacher Havoc that I need to put a piston and sleeve in thanks to the previous owner running it lean. It also sucks that Schumacher pulled out of the US because it makes getting parts so damn difficult.
ive had a bunch of rc cars, all nittro all gone now lol
but i want my next rc car to be a serpent but the $2,000 is really hard to come by right now.
one of these bad boys in action, listen and watch for 2 nd gear, lol f ing flying and riding the rails.
Back in high school, early college I used to race quite a bit. I started with 1/10th scale on road, 60mph. So much fun. Then I went and got a Traxxas Revo with an engine conversion. Then I decided I wanted the speed of my on road with the fun of off road so I bought an 1/8th scale buggy. Single speed, 60mph down the straight. I had over $3000 invested in all my remotes, cars, parts, chargers, etc etc.
I won a couple races and had some fun, I miss it sometime, but I also worked at a hobby shop where I got hefty discounts.
Ive had a older Traxxas nitro 4-tec that did 55ish, a traxxas jato 3.3 that did 65ish and right now all I have is a Blade MSR-X helicopter. Not sure what the speed is on that thing but it really moves, if I had to guess id say about 30mph or more.
i had a traxxas nirto stamped. the hobby shop i went to for parts had a road track on the roof. so as you can tell a nitro stamped is crap for handling, so got buggy wheels and tires, put spacers in the shocks so they would not spring up as high, then got like a 34 tooth bell clutch gear and a small ass spur gear, like a 18 tooth i think. thing did like 40 mph and handled some what, it ran fastest if you kinda drifted it in the turns lol
then i had to zip tie a 5/8 spark plug socket to the front bumper to keep the front wheels down, if i set the slipper on the spur gear to loose it ate the spur and little pegs. and tires cost less than spur gears and and them pegs. so spinning the tires was a good thing.
and of course the all metal sun and planetary gears for the rear end, they lasted longer but i found a way to trash them too. parts do add up.
I have an Associated RC10 sitting in a closet somewhere. The remote got broken one winter several years ago and I never got around to replacing it since it was just a fun thing for past time. I really should fix that... lol I always wanted one of the cars, but not many places around here to play with them. At least I can play with the RC10 in the yard.
This is awesome!
