    Battlefield > Call of Duty

Personally am done with cod. BF has just been offering more for the money. They update there graphics every game and include every type of game mode you need. Zombies is really the only thing going for cod.

BF3 with day one DLC, then expansion pack, then premium service, finally a couple months later, BF4 announced.

Woooooo, you dun been EA'd. The original Activision.

Don't get me wrong, not even close to a fan of Activision or their current CoD products. I'd rather play CS:GO.

Lol are you kidding? Activision is much worse. CoD expansions, new CoD. They are pumping out a new one every year. At least bf3 lasts a few years at a time.

I have friends that don't like battlefield and like COD. I play either but I prefer Battlefield, so much more to do and ways to do it. COD is two-fold where anyone can pick it up and play it, but they can also just camp one doorway the whole game and love it. The maps get smaller and smaller and most of the time you just find yourself running in circles around the map shooting anything moving but teammates, it gets old. The only thing worth buying the new games is it has a decent campaign and all your friends will be playing it anyway.

The only thing bad about Battlefield is the learning curve and the servers on the console. There is so much crap you can do, it only gets old when you limit yourself to what you do. 3 guys in one building? Blow a hole through the wall with the rocket launcher and shoot them or drive through it with the tank then shoot or place c4 around the whole building to collapse it or jump in a jet and dive bomb it and so on. There are videos that surface every week of something that's never been done before in the game.

I'm just disappointed with the amount of good FPS games out these days, slim to none, used to be ghost recon/splinter cell/rainbow 6 etc.

Look at what EA games has done over the years.

They've been doing what Activision has been doing, for longer.

I don't see the merit of your comparison and defense of EA games.

They have a really bad history of treating both employees and customers poorly, even with the Battlefield series.

My initial qualm with your point was EA does not provide that much more value for your money if you're paying for the added services and content. For the core price of the game, yes, it strikes a good value. The idea of a paid subscription for this type of game, is well beyond me. Furthermore, additional content and charging the same price as the game itself, is also rather peculiar.

On the other hand, seeing as they've added 20 maps and 20 weapons for $50, that's not that bad of a deal. But only because of the scale of a typical BF3 map. Regardless, it's still $90 or $110 if you pre-ordered the deluxe edition.

On the topic of indoor combat, the close quarters combat expansion for BF3 comes across as a mashup of CS and COD. CoD is small scale combat, BF3 is large scale. Not directly comparable, until BF3 tried it.

I still cannot see the point to basing the server browser through a web page.

Instead of running the service through the main game, the server browser is run through plug-ins via your web browser. The party voice chat is run through yet another separate process. Last one is pretty pointless, because of vent.

Regardless, you're still playing very different games.

Now I might buy the $50 pack and start playing this again.

Quick comment on the graphics though, I can't see them taking it much further as we're not moving quickly enough with video card improvements. Nor are people actually buying them. Check the steam survey.

IIRC, it takes a 580 to run BF3 maxed at 1920x1080. Not the best card out there, but it's certainly not shabby by any standards. Gotta pay to play right?

BF4 trailer looks good, but I find it peculiar they always pick the one guy who doesn't know how to play to do the demo. Makes sense for them though, they have more time to show off.

I'm not a fan of pay to win.

You can drop more money than you'd spend buying a real game.

Or you can still buy a real game like BF3 and still buy the shortcuts. Last I heard that was $40.

That game looks like a mash between UT and Halo.

There's also Planetside 2. MMOFPS, free to play, pay to increase XP multiplier etc.

Latest game on steam like that is Warframe. Seems pretty popular, four player co-op, but buggy, and repetitive.

Then there's Offensive Combat and Quake Live.

    Ya know?

COD Pisses me off with it's gay latency and unbelievable deaths. It has the worst multiplayer ever. My shots don't register, the knives suck ass now and it's just retarded now.

Ive always been a fan of Cod.

I enjoy the story modes, and really like the multiplayer of the Modern Warfare games.

The Modern Warfare ones, made my IW & Activision are a million times better. Treyarch and the Black Op games are so garbage. Blops 2 is just okay, but IW by a mile. Im a huge fan of the IW/Activision Cod games.

Well I've heard they're using a new engine. ABOUT DAMN TIME!!! The engine got old after WaW.....And clearly showed around 2009. I just hope they actually bring next gen material. The formula hasn't changed since COD4, and its getting old. I still enjoy BF series more. I love Bad Company 2 and BF3 cause its waaaay more diverse every time. COD has too many flaws that ruin the game for me. The balancing sucks.
