Yeah i mean i have done it before but i didn't ever notice any difference at all soo i was wondering if this was true or not.
It doesn't make "more" power. Just keeps the PCM from taking away power when the wheels spin.
Yep this it. If you dont spin your tires on a launch you wont notice any gain, but if you spin its up to you to make the car hook or spin more. TCS on helps some people that cant keep spin under control and actually run better times but it is cutting power while active and the tires are spinningIt doesn't make "more" power. Just keeps the PCM from taking away power when the wheels spin.
So turning off tcs like on a 35 or 40 roll wont help right?
Haha thats what i thought.
Years ago I remember running a full second slower in the 1/4 mile with my TCS on, TCS off I gained it back.
Due to traction control, less power, less spin. same with a rwd when radials are ran and then slicks, slicks will always run the better time unless the knucklehead didnt have the power to spin em sticky at the box.
once upon a time a camaro ss with bolt-ons was getting ready to do a run and he dumped the clutch to do a burnout and left TCS on and blew his first gear
