I did full detailing for about 3 years, $75 is a good deal(detailing shop will be around $100 for the same) just keep in mind a full size SUV with kid damage is a beast to tackle, will take a good amount of time.

oh and the foaming window cleaner is great.

I've yet to use my pc, and I also said I most likely wasn't going to use it because of that reason. He just wants to get it clean so they can sell it.
They don't want to spend an arm and a leg just to sell it. So I'm trying to help them out.
I enjoy detailing and would like the experience.

You shouldn't feel bad charging $300, because the value of the car will probably increase three times that or more.

Um. You can get a pretty basic detail for less than $200.
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

Guys....you are basing your prices off of a professional that would most likely use a high speed polisher for the exterior, and would more than likely have some type of wet vac system for the interior.

Danielle has said it herself that she has never even used a porta - cable....so she has no experience with different types of pads, cutting compounds, and top coat canuba wax. Not only that but I doubt that she would be able to get deep stains out of the interior without some equipment.

So pretty much, she would be charging him to give the car a good wash and a detailed interior vacuuming / spot stain removal.

My local car spa charges $97 for this service (granted that's NY pricing....so it's a bit high).

Not trying to crap on you Danielle, just think you should get some more experience before u charge. Maybe don't charge him at all and experiment with the porta cable alittle. No way you can do much damage with that.

...or you can charge him since its not your car, and then experiment with the porta cable on your car?? lol
he said he was willing to pay right? he knows shes not professional. she probably SHOULD get more experience before she charges...BUT the guys willing to pay, so take him up on his offer.

Yea, and then she does it and HE expects more........ I disagree. If I'm paying someone to detail are car for me I have certain expectations. I'm sure he does also.

We agreed on $75 for a simple detail.
    Wash
    Clay Bar
    Wax and sealant
    Wheel Scrub
    Interior sweep and clean
Clean misc interior panels and such
Spot/Stain Removal (to best of my ability)
    Clean Windows and rain-x

*For the 2nd time. I have a PC, However I am NOT using it on this job.
I'm not comfortable using such a appliance on a unfamiliar vehicle.

He didn't care about a price, he just wants it done.
He works all day and his wife takes care of the 4 kiddos, so they don't have the time themselves to do it.
The $75 will basically pay for my time and a few supplies, which is more than fine with me.

I will most likely be starting on it Sunday and hopefully it will be done mid-week.

I will when I get to work on it. He didn't have a chance to talk to his wife about it, so it didn't happen.

I did do the g6 on Sunday tho. Worked on some heavy swirls. There is a thread on the detail tricks section.
I will be doing the trunk lid on my gp tonight so I can install the new spoiler

I was worried working on a black car for the first time ever using a pc and I didn't run into any problems.

But really, a pc is very user friendly. I've only used it once and its already worth every penny I spent.
