They don't stand a chance. I had a friend that was a contractor over there and we used to catch smaal ones to feed his scorpions. Once thay get to be the size of a scorpion, they are pretty vicious. Alot of people think the camel spider is chasing them, but they are only trying to stay in your shadow to stay out the sun. The faster you move, the faster they move. Yea, I had me a good ol' 240 while I was there.

Fun playing with new unknown critters. Caught a hedge hog one night and kept it for a little while until my higher command found out about it and freaked. Watch where you step at night. Almost stepped on a baby viper chillin' in the shadows. Almost crapped my pants on that one. They're pretty quick. Saw him crawling as I was putting my foot down and kinda hoped over it and by the time my foot hit the ground, it was already coiled up hissing. Make sure you bang your boots upside down before you put them on to make sure no critters want to call them home. Even if you only take them off for a second. Don't let none of this get to you, it's just words of advice. Most of the time they'll avoid you before you even see them.

It was almost like it popped up from no where. I just happened to look down while I was stepping off a curb and my foot was right above it. So I did that little hop you do to keep from stepping on something and one big step to get away. Once I was far enough away, I chacked him out a little. They can only stike the length of their body, as with most snakes. So I was able to get a good look at him.

Oh trust me. It wouldn't have jumped far. I guess in a way, I can say it was a good experience going over. Especially to learn of a whole different type of culture. Made some good friends and some enemies. Had some of their military guys tell me they didn't want us there, so I told him I didn't either and sterted sharpening the tip of one of my rounds and just stared at him. He didn't have much to say after that.

o jez its like that huh? my platoon Sgt. says last time my unit went in 2004 that theyre was a streetway suppost to be cleared for them (since were all 88-mikes and 92-foxes) and the ING was suppost to have it cleared for them. well they didnt. my PLT SGT. says he called 2 .50 cal gunner LMTV's to the front and fired off a few warning rounds, he said they cleared like sewer rats@!

That's usually all it takes. Most of the people over there like to try and stay out of any confrataions. Most are really nice and enjoy having us there. Like I said, actually had a couple that became good friends. And you wouldn't think it, but some of their weman are freakin' hot!!!
