Thread: its that time again: help me pick a new game

i am about an hour from beating infamous 2 so i need to head out and get another game to play. i have a few at home that i started playing and havent beat, but i would rather start with something more from from the beginning.

things to note:

- i have PS3, xbox exclusives i cannot play
- i dont care if it is a brand new game
- if you recommend CoD i will ban you
- i dont really play games online, so dont promote a game that consists of lots of online play
- if the game doesnt have a story worth listening to i dont want to play it, im trying to waste time

games that have caught my eye recently:

- batman arkham asylum
- rage
- mass effect 2
- sonic generations (not out yet, i know)



now here is where you come in. opinions and suggestions on any and all games you think i might enjoy are welcome.

Anyway, I heard batman got good reviews and was a ok game. I havent played it tho.

any uncharted game
little big planet is entertaining if u like platformers
god of war 3 just because.

i have had a couple suggestions of BF3, but im not sold because im not a huge FPS fan. i did like RPG-esque shooters like fallout, so i figured i would like mass effect.

i have killzone 2 and it was alright. didnt play it anymore once i beat the campaign mode once.

keep them coming!

And very involved...gameplay and graphics were top notch IMO.

I wouldnt do BF3 since its mostly online, single players always an after thought. That said, mass effect games, heard dead space (sp) was good, and I cant remember that new zombie game, not at home but not sure if its on every platform or just xbox.

Zombie game is Dead Island.. saw it at Bestbuy while picking up BF3.

Dead island is lots of fun. good first person shooter/rpg style game. gruesome as well

whats short? you have to realize i dont play 'often' so it might take me a few months to beat a game that is good for 30 hours.

yeah, i do like to find everything so normally games that would take me 15 hours take me double what they should. i think this is a solid pick for me so far.

I highly recommend mass effect. I started on 2 and am looking forward to 3. If I could do it again, I would have started with the first as it is an ongoing choose your own adventure. Very very very well thought out game with an extreme amount of re-playability.
