Quick details:
1998 GTP, 118,xxx miles. Mostly stock, SLP catback, u-bend delete, K&N drop in filter, stock/always has been stock s/c pulley. Guy had the SC snout replaced at the dealer around 80K because the coupler went bad and he didn't know it could be replaced. Oil changed "every 5 months" with synthetic. Oil looked good, coolant looked good with some sludge (to be expected). Rocker panels are actually pretty solid but the rear strut towers are pretty bad. There's some surface damage to the passenger side from a snow plow but it would be easy enough to fix. The rust on the rear quarter panel is all on the surface from the plow, it's not through the metal or coming from the inside of the wheel well, the wells are solid on both sides and so is the inside of the gas cap. the underbody was pretty clean as well. LIM and VC gaskets need changed, also to be expected.
I drove the car and it felt fine, it shifts smoothly, no misfires/hesitation. Drove like a GTP does, nothing was unusual. Guy is selling it because he bought a 2011 WRX ironically.

He's asking 2800 but he's negotiable and it's been sitting since July so I could tell he wants to get rid of it. I'd love to pick it up for around $1500, the most I'd pay would be $2000. What do you think? I wouldn't be keeping the car, just driving it until next summer when my younger brother gets his driver's license.
