Ok, so I'm pretty bored and was just thinking about lighting inside my car which got me thinking about the dials and stuff which got me thinking about the HUD.

Although I've only owned the car for (lemme think...) 4 days now, I just wanted to say how awesome the idea of a HUD is, and furthermore how awesome it actually is.

Which brings me to another semi-random tangent....

The other day driving on the highway (actually I was bringing the car home) and I noticed how the HUD said 67 but the speedo said closer to 65 (speed limit was 65, but I got the bird from an idiot for slowing him down by driving 67 in the right lane....go figure ).
Now I know, it was only two-ish MPH off, but still it bothered me lol.

So, without further ado, does anyone else care to share their own HUD story?
(I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess nobody will, but who cares ).

Do you have stock rims and tires? If not that may explain why the gauges are off from eachother.

Bob... both the hud and speedo are fed off the same wire from the VSS. Difference is the speedo has a little bit of mechanical built into it.

The HUD is accurate and the speedo is slightly off.

Your HUD story would be cooler if we knew what you drove...

HUD is the only way to fly. Which is why I've added it to 9-10 Regals.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

The HUD is accurate, ive checked with many of those signs with radar that tell you your speed. The speedo is a little off, only 1-3 depending on speed.

My HUD is exact same as speedo, that is, when it decides to "illuminate".

bill would a 98 regal GS have all the wires installed for a HUD or would i have to get into splicing wires to get it to work? and would i need a new dash cover or do you hack a hole it in and put some kind of trim around it? i've never even seen one in a regal so i have no clue.

That just seems like it would be a pain unless the wiring is already there..
