I have a question for some of you computer guru's out there.
I bought a dell inspiron laptop about 2 months ago and I LOVE it!
However, the speakers seem a little raspy and don't quite have the bass or tone that I'd like. I was looking at getting a plug in speaker set that had 2 speakers and a sub-woofer (like $45ish is what I've found mostly). I don't game or watch a lot of movies, just mostly music.
So, does anyone have any suggestions as to a brand or style of speaker that you would pick? I'd like to stay under $50 if possible (I know I'm probably not going to get the best quality for that price but that's ok).

    Any suggestions is appreciated!

I did a quick search and came up with these, hope it helps.

    Newegg.com - Logitech S-220 17 Watts 2.1 Multimedia Speaker System - Speakers

    Cyber Acoustics - 2.1 Speaker System (3-Piece) - Ca3602

    Logitech - Z313 2.1-Channel Speaker System (3-Piece) - Black/Silver - 980-000382

I like logitech speakers, ive had a few different setups and they were great. Bose is good too but they tend to be more $$

I've seen those logitechs and they spark my interest, best price yet!
I'm clueless at speakers...so when it says 17 watt sub or 15 ect...is the higher the number the better?

I don't need to rock a club, just my desk lol

I got that Cyber Acoustics set a couple months ago at staples for $50.

I have no complaints with them except that the volume control on the wired remote is very sensitive. Otherwise they've been great. I watch movies, play games and listen to tunes. You get what you pay for, but these had some of the best reviews of any in the sub-$50 range.

They have clear high's and good bass, but the mid's are weak. If you're just a casual listener like me, you'll think they're great.

I've had my logitechs for a couple years now. They're very good quality for the price.

Always wanted to get some Klipsch computer speakers, but don't really want to piss off my apartment neighbors.

Just look around on ebay for some logitechs, pretty much any set in that price range will sound the same to you.

I bought my dad a set of Logitech X-240, which I believe are now discontinued, but they are great for the low price.

And yes, put simply, higher power (watts) = more volume/sound.
