Most impalas do not have the STB. The 9c1 cars came standard with it and the Buick regal(IIRC 98 or 99 and up). GPs never came with the STB from the factory, someone put it on.

Why not get brackets? ZZP offers brackets for the front and DonRome offers them for the front and rear. I used DonRome's and you can see the install requires no drilling:

In regards to the 00-05 generation of Impalas, more had them than didn't. All 00-03 Impalas had them. Only 04-05 civilian Impalas did not.Originally Posted by Sinister Drag Designs
