For a 2002 GTP, is the performance shift button a stock feature, or an option. As far as I understood it was a stock feature, but I don't have one. There is a goofy aftermarket alluminum shift handle in place of the stock gray one, but I looked underneath the assembly and found no wires or anything that might suggest a previous button existed. And if this was not apart of my stock features....which I find odd cuz the car is fully loaded minus the sun roof... should I get one put in, or just go straight for a custom tune. Cuz I sure as hell don't like the way this tranny shifts like virgin on a first date, when I mash it at 40 and nothing happens. Nor can I just downshift myself, cuz it doesn't listen to me.

That was very helpful. Just one question...after all the wiring is done which seems very simple, do I have to go into the computer to check what it was talking about, and if so how do I do that?

This will answer that for ya. Its at the bottom of the how to link I posted. You will need a DHP or HPTuner to make the changes necessary.

These settings are already there although not very aggressive, just not sure if the option has been left on, like the models that came with the Performance Shift stock.

The option after the Performance shift buttons were removed from the GPs is set to off by default now. You need to go in with a tuner to turn them on to be able to activate the Performance mode.
