There was another even older one I wanted to post from VWVortex. This kid said he wanted to make his VR6 Jetta look better so he painted his calipers. Only he posted pics and he painted the brakes. The whole rotor, braking surface and all.

I would have posted it, only the pics are dead. lol

You don't need pics, it's pretty simple. Make sure the engine is cool, cover and seal off anything electrical, and the air filter (I use alum foil and duck tape), spray everything else with a degreaser, and let it sit for 5 mins. Next, rinse throughly, touch up any spots you missed with more degreaser and a damp rag, remove the covering over the electrical components, and carefully clean them with a damp cloth. That's it. You shouldn't do this at a car wash though, as any oil or sludge residue will be washed down the drain.

I didn't read all twenty pages of the link, but a few years back somebody posted this same story on svtp. I believe he also mentioned how he was going to get a GTP. Probably a GP owner having fun trolling mustang forums.

I usually take a walmart or similar plastic bag *inspect for holes :P* and cover the filter and tie it off... makes a good seal on the tubing and keeps it from getting wet, then just remove once done and your good to go

It appears that there are a lot of people posting on this thread that actually think this guy did this.... Y'all are aware that it was a joke and the poster came clean at the very end that he never did this, right??

Last couple pages under a slightly different screen name saying it was all a joke made up by some folks on an Eclipse forum. I'm going to assume that the original screen name got banned or something.

I read it start to finish, all 25 pages. It was never really clear to me. It was spread by users to multiple other sites for funiness, and supposedly "The Real Mark ........" w/e claimed it was a joke and that he was banned for multiple users on the forum after the original posting, but it could be a sham... we will never know for sure, but there were other threads and questions by the OP and he seemed to be that dumb, so its entirely possible its real. Take the time and read it and see for yourself
