Yeah. I've got 2 file boxes where I keep all my "important documents" and I can't seem to find it..
Oh well, I have til friday to find it.
i got one of them cheap fire proof sentry safes. thats where all that crap goes for me. 30 bucks for fire proof box = priceless. and i know where all that really important stuff is.
one of these cheap safes,

its not for theft as it can be broken into real easy, i use it for the fire proof part. i had a house burn. lost almost every damn last important documents i had. lesson learned.
Yeah I need to invest in one of those. Never had to deal with a fire, and I sure don't want to.
I thought I remembered putting it in the box by my computer desk... But it's not there. All I know is I got it in the mail, stuck it somewhere and haven't thought about it in 3 years.
I keep important files in our lockbox at the bank
house fire, well kinda caused by me, and kinda not.
i came home piss drunk, the power went out, i lit a candle, it was in a proper holder and all. and i passed out. next thing i knew i woke up to most of my basement. aka my room on fire.
the only thing i can think of is the cat knocked the candle over onto the couch as it was the starting point of the fire, my uncle was on the fire dept, so i got this from them as well as my own accounts, the fire was largest for sure by the couch when i woke up. flames were crawling on the ceiling and were starting to go up the stairs, aka my way out. i literally ran out of the house in nothing more then underwear.
and to boot it was a Friday, i had just got paid, had my whole pay check was in my pants pocket, dont you know my pants burnt up along with my paycheck.
i also lost my "Who" tickets to the fire, but got obstructed view seats by bring in the burnt stubs. if i had that safe at the time, thats where they would have been for sure lol
you have no idea how loud a fire can be until your in the middle of a room on fire. sick stuff. and the house would have burned to the ground if my uncle was not there, he knew the floor plan of the house and was able to lead a team into the basement and get it under control. lost the whole basement, the kitchen and dinning room to fire, those were the first two room at the top of the stairs, the rest of the house suffered major smoke damage.
i was also told i pretty much saved the house by leaving the back door open, it opened in, and was right in line with the stair case. so when the door was open it closed off the door way to the dining room and the rest of the house. there were 50 foot flames shooting out of the back door. the photos the fire dept took during the fire were nothing short of spectacular.
