Still alive and kicking. Crazy weather, Round 3 for Oklahoma is up today in the south, with any luck we won't see any more tornados. I'm ready for summer weather and stupid fun at the lake, this storm crap is for the birds.
Crazy stuff, Media frenzy put the death toll in Moore (sad regardless) at 51 people (20 children), then after midnight updated it to 91 people, and this morning at 8ish the Official Medical Examiner report put it down to 24 people (children total not stated). So if accurate at 20 poor kids from the school, then they over counted the 4 adults, about 22-23 times... :th_scratchhead:
Someone should be fired. Spokespeople should be put back into school to learn math. Crazy stuff.

What they should do is stop trying to give accurate numbers in the middle of a crisis. The world has become obsessed with trying to get actual information before it's happened. "Many dead and injured" sums it up fine. Go back later and tell the idiot reports the numbers. Exact stuff doesn't help anything when things are still happening.
People want to know how how dramatically they should advertize what a super-nice person they are for keeping them in their thoughts/prayers on facebook.

Yeah 75% of my friends (all local to me, some 200 miles away from Moore/OKCity) were all changing their pictures and "sending up prayers" and going crazy over it and blowing up the news feed, couldn't hardly read any real facts for all the BS.
Regardless my thought was 1 fatality is a tragedy, as said, needs to just say "Many dead and wounded" let the people do their jobs, at the end say the right numbers. They are still looking for people and going through rubble, whose to say they don't find more later today. Never know until its all done.

Several I hope are doing ok. Quite a few up in the OKC area around where all the torando activity was actually occuring.
Rocket468, squeeze, Kejross, and several others are up in that general area. Poor Kevin just got the GXP back up and running iirc, it was the one with all the hail damage that he was rebuilding, hopefully it was safe and not ruined again.

^ is a link from a guy out on Lake Texoma, never heard of any touchdowns, but it looks pretty convincing to me. Fortunately for the little city of Durant, the way it is set next to the lake 90% of all bad storms coming right for us hit the open water and die or split and go around us. Spells disaster for towns north and south of us when it splits, but we stay safe and provide assistance every time.

Durant isn't THAT small of a town, the lake is just that dam big. Refer to my signature, that gap is one of the thin areas, there are parts where you can barely look across and see land on the other side, massive. So it makes a good storm shield. :th_peaceout:
