    i have a 99 gtp S/C anyways if i put it in park and i believe nuetral i rev it or floor it it will go to about 4500 rpms and it will hum and bob back and forth. does anybody know what im trying to say or talking about is this normal "is there like a built in rev limiter???" thanks -Joe- ps: im not to explaining things

    thats normal. my 04 does it. im not sure why but it does. to rev it past that you have to be rolling atleast 10mph

    It is called a rev limiter. There is no need to rev the engine higher than that while in park or neutral anyway.

    It keeps your engine from destroying itself while you're in the drive through at McDonalds reaching for your wallet and accidentally mash the pedal.

    FYI, it's not good to rev it and let it sit against that rev limiter. Its pulling fuel to accomplish this and you're going to pop a piston.

    No reason to put it in neutral and rev it anyways, it's not like your car sounds good anyways.
