Think I've only shared a little with you guys in the chatbox. Anyhow the kitchen was a little undersized for a table and awkward. Walls had to go.

    Before

    Sheetrock down

    Beams in place

Sheetrocked, primed, painted and ceiling textured

    Island with kickpanel heater

To come: laminate flooring and finish island.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

That looks alot better. I really wouldn't like having the kitchen all closed off like it was. Definetly opens up the area.

Don't get the impression I did it all. My neighbor has been building houses and remodeling them for years. His brother does drywall. We did the beams, hung the drywall and called his brother in for the taping etc. Then he gave me a hand moving the heat to under the counter and building the island from the old cabinets. I've done most of the destruction, ripping up the floors, all the electrical etc. It's been a most nights of the last month and some weekends.

Last night I was a little sidetracked by a Snowflake swapping a Regal seat and a meeting that kept me at work a couple extra hours. Once I got rolling though...the dining room and kitchen floor went down.

The next row needs notching around the island, then going around the wall and beginning the rip that'll go all the way down the hallway. I'm hoping to have enough time tonight to prep the hallway and rest of living room to be able to get it all down.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
