Seems the US likes to use it, because it is a simple standard to teach to childern and most of the educational material is setup for this method. The conversion is not as easy as just stating, OK will will now use the Metric system, but the medical field even in the US does only use the metric system.
I'm kind of used to using the metric system but I prefer SAE, one of my professors said he didn't understand some parts of the metric system lol
