I'm sure this is in here and I overlooked it but is this mated to the M6 or A4?

I figured it could have a T56 in it, why not?

Edit: Also I guess that answers another question I had, if this was originally V6 or V8 powered. Were the V6's RWD?

Not sure how I missed this one until now. Looks great Dave. Any high rpm miss issues? I've found MSD coils tend to break down or cause issues over time. If you notice any high rpm misses... try the coils first before going crazy looking for other things.

I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

    Because they can't bolt up.

    Different bolt pattern.

Unless the L36 RWD blocks have a different bolt pattern?

The car has an auto trans, 4L60E with a few upgrades and looser converter than stock. The 3800s only came with the 5 speed manual and there isnt a bellhousing available to my knowledge that will work with a 6 speed. GM had a prototype test car in the mid 90s that they made a custom adapter to do this but is long gone and I havent heard of anyone else who tried this as most guys making high powered setups use the auto.

Bill- The coils are Summit Racing replacements. I think one has already gone bad in the past year or two but dont remember for sure. Im not a fan of anything but stock coils but they were on the car and will have to keep an eye on them. At least they are easy to get to now!

I know next to nothing about f bodies, that's why I'm asking these questions. Is there a problem with me learning?

Thanks for the info Dave, great work.

I know of a guy who did do it on a 600 whp 3800 F-body. Parted the car out and the tranny is out there somewhere, not sure who has it.

Wow fantastic work. I always wanted to see one of these done. Most v6 guys just went the turbo route, or of course v8 swap.

    That really is beautiful.

Do the high trim f-bodies have performance parts in the suspension or other such things over the V6 models?

Oh yea, Early forth gen v6's had drum brakes in the back and no LSD. There was a Y87 Performance pack which gave V6's 4 wheel disc brakes, a LSD, quicker steering and if automatic 3.42 gears. V8 models, specifically Trans Am and 1LE cars got bigger sway bars, beefier springs and shocks, wider tires. By default they already had the LSD and quicker ratio steering and 4 wheel disc.
