About a month ago I bought a 2004 Ford F150. It is an XLT with the 5.4, 144,000 miles on it. I paid $5777 for it. What does everyone think?

pretty cool Im a chevy/gm truck guy so Ill give your crap about it but its just opinion but anyways I don't really consider half tons trucks dosen't matter who made it untill you go 3/4 or bigger its just a el camino to me the half tons just arent built to tow like the big trucks but that is a nice looking ride and I like your garage wish mine was that clean
Yeah its the 3V.
Taz- it does enough for me. Pulls the trailer that we have so it works for me. I really wouldn't consider a .5 ton an el camino. If you want to say a S-10, Ranger, Dakota, are an EC, I understand but a 1/2 ton is more than enough for the average person. Its better than my GP
3v are not bad engines, just be careful if you ever change the plugs not the break on in half. Also dont not use anti seize on the plugs, they will blow out easier.
Yeah I have heard horror stories on the plugs. Mine have been changed before so they should be good. It was just the type of plug that was put in from the factory.
Taz- in that picture, i would consider the garage to be dirty. Usually it is actually cleaner than that. We have an oversized 2 stall attached to the house, a 12x18 and a 32x48 that we just built that I park my pickup in.
well its really nice looking and I really like the floor your right a half ton is enough for the average person but if you ever have to tow somthing very big for very long you will see what Im talking about a Half ton can drag just about anything but theres a diffrence between draging and towing. but nice truck man not the biggest ford fan but its way better than a dodge so good job!
oh is it a 4x4?
Do not park it inside! Cruise control switch shorts out and toasts the vehicle and usually the building it's parked in.
Also arrange to change the exhaust manifold studs ASAP before they snap off. On my 2003 Super Duty (6.8L V10) out of 20 studs I was down to 12 before I sold it. Ford changed them in 2005 but in true Ford fashion it sucks to be an existing owner. I could go on for a couple more pages but I'm on my Droid X.
Check out Ford Fire Recall: Update on Ford Fire Recallelaborate please?
This was after years of saying "nothing's wrong", "nothing's wrong", "nothing's wrong", "nothing's.........
Taz- Yeah its 4WD. Wouldn't make it very far around here without it.
Mystic- the studs weren't as big of a problem on the 04-up as they were before. I just got done helping replace the studs on my dads 2000 F150 and my brother in law has an 01 F150 and we need to do his someday.
I think I have a bunch of pics of the garage on my comp. I'll try to put them on here sometime.
My favorite part of the entire thing is the rusting out LeSabre to the left...
Nice truck man...get those front windows darkened a tad![]()
The LeSabre is a pretty sexy car huh?
Its my dads work car that he paid $1 for. 100,000 miles when he got it. Tough to beat that deal.
