Went to bed at 10 last night for the first time in forever. God sleep is so essential to proper weight training. I feel like i could lift for hours again.
It feels so good though doesn't it? :D
I've gotten to the point where its almost an addiction. Like if I don't get the "pump" Or the jelly feeling, it's like I don't climax er something. It's weird. But what Arnold Schwarzenegger said in that bodybuilding movie was right.
i cant stand spin class. ive been to it about 10 times and i just cannot get into it. it's soooooo gay...
Haven't updated in a while: got my meds regulated with the doc to control my nausea and my appetite has increased dramatically and I've put on 12 pounds in the last 3 weeks or so. Good food at my gma's is playing a small role but having an appetite and not having crippling nausea is just a miracle.
pulled this off at the gym on the treadmill today in the same time frame as i did on the precor 100i. didnt run super hard, but i did work. i think the treadmill is a better workout.

Ugh. Was on an injury-free streak for a while. Had to drop past my friends house and went to the gym near there. Started working on my clean using one of the crappy bench bars they put in the squat racks... warming up, got up to maybe 155, and lost control of the bar and banged my elbow on my knee. Turns out, the bar needed a tightening and the weight on the right hand side got about 3" of play. Always check your bars for play, kids. Anyway, the weight was low enough that I didn't break my wrists, but I've got a nasty strain in my right wrist that'll probably hurt more tomorrow. Worked up to some power clean and presses anyway at 175... not because I couldn't go higher, but because bench bars suck for control on the dump. Got disgusted and banged out front squats for the last 20 minutes before the place closed. What a gross night at the gym.
Nick..how much time? I can't get myself to run on a treadmill or at all.
i did 2.5 miles in the 30 minutes, then the 5 minute cool down. i was running 6mph for a fair amount yesterday so i feel good about what i did. i feel like in another couple weeks i could be running a good amount at 7mph and really burn some calories. i also always put the incline to 1.0 so i'm not just running on a flat treadmill which is a big help to me when i go out and run outside in the real world.
Oh Bill, just for you my functional friend: Lift Big Eat Big: What Are The Top 5 Movements?
On #5: Lots of people disagree and suggest farmer's carries. But there's general consensus with the first four.
Just put in another 4.5+ miles today. Workin it.
I might have gained weight. But I look leaner. Guess I'll need to get the bodyfat checked again.
Losing weight, down about 3-5 pounds over the week. Moved from the 100i to Insanity. Going to do both, 100i at a lesser pace though.
Glad to see a lot of you guys still progressing.
I got myself down to 239 last week. Almost 60lbs total
I have to start training for a physical test ill be taking in a few months, so unfortunatley I'm going to lay off my lifting program and hit the treadmill. Shoot me now. Aiming for 1.5 miles in 16 minutes. Then I need to complete 22 push-ups and 27 sit-ups in under a minute each. Not a grueling test by any means but I hate running, and it hates me.
Best of luck Scott.. I'd be hard pressed to run. Although if I can eliptical and 100i for 6-8 miles in an hour, I could in theory run.
Currently at 191 and change. Definately feel the muscle packing on and clothes fitting much better. Just two weeks ago I had a "fat" feeling in which I was working out a ton, but clothes were feeling tight. After a full week of eating better and doing Insanity, things are fitting better. After a week and a half now, I can feel the muscle building. Realized my calves have seriously grown. Feeling good about this program as a leap frog back into shape for me to then maintain.
Likely I will toss some weight lifting into the routine after completing the first 60 days. Haven't done anything more than Spinning class on Tuesdays. As the week has progressed the intentions were there to work out in the morning as well as Insanity in the afternoon... been more and more tired as the week has gone on.
