I work as a Data Security Engineer at Regions bank. I am at the IT headquarters in Birmingham, AL... I started out in the exercise field (exercise physiologist) and took a job in the computer field to make more money. The rest is history.

Thank you for your service. This country can take a lot of twist and turns. Some for the better, some even for the worse but I PRAY we NEVER forget the sacrifice such as yourself make to keep this country safe.

We are now in another election cycle and I think anyone worth a hill of beans would do well to take note that they are able to go and have their vote counted and voice heard because of such sacrifices. I don't care if you like who's running, what party you vote for or for what reason, its all irrelevant. What is relevant is that you CAN take part in the process because of people like 04monte.

So thank you and thank you to anyone else here that is also making that sacrifice.

No oil field guys out there?

I;ve never actully told anyone what I do other than my job title. I'm a Field Service Tech. for WGPC. I'm on call 24/7, 365 days a year and I cannot take off on Holidays period. I sometimes get 1 weekend a month off (rotates to 4 guys if work is low). I have a company vehicle rigged out with tools/torch/etc. 99% of my jobs are out in the field, so I have to travel anywhere from 50-500 miles daily to do work on rigs. The other 1% is I may build something in the shop. I generally have to go to the shop to pick up the equipment to go on location. I work anywhere from 60-100 hours a week w/ little sleep.

Let me briefly explain what exactly I do. I'm currently a Stage 1 so I basically go out to the rigs, make sure there killed off (no pressure), use a gas monitor to make sure nothing is coming out of the hole, I'll set some slips for that string, do a rouch cut, and the BOP crew will either remove the stack or remove a spool or DSA for the next string, I then make a Final Cut (very imported, if you cut to short you loose your job, if you drop somthing down hole, you loose your job so your always under pressure. Your working with a lot of $$$$$ here) grind and smooth out the casing stub for the seals, land and nipple up your casing head or Tubing Head, tighten it being yourself w/ a hammer wrenchs or sometimes the BOP crews do it for you. You look up the collapse of the casing X 80% and test to that pressure (again, you can't mess this up. If you go too high, you collapse the csg and cost the company alot of $$$$$), you bleed the pressure to 0 and get the hell out of there. From there the rig crew will either drill a new string, cap off the well and rig down (a dry hole), or cap off a well, rig down and rig up a prod. rig to run tubing. Note: I mostly work with A and B sections, haven't done many completions yet.

Thats a basic short explanation of what I do...

Its a very dangrous job (anyone in the oil field can tell ya). I've been on fire a couple times (gas pressure came out unexpect while cutting w/ a torch, luckily I wasn't injured. I've been close to 15,000 pound BOPs falling (cables or chains failing) luckly I wasn't working under them at the time, i'm most always under something like this to perform the tasks (again, anyone in the oil field can tell ya).

Why am I doing this? I want to have a future, i'll be working in the WGPC OKC office one of these days, 8-5 on salary. I've moved up quite a bit over the years, I started at the very bottom and moved up considerably fast w/ this company (Shop hand, Valve Tech, Shop Leadman, and now Field Service Tech.)....

I work for the worlds largest ice company. Reddy Ice: Good times are in the BAG!

I am what they call a CSR. Basically I have my stores that have a ice factory inside them. I have my daily routes we set ourselves, and drive from store to store loading bags inside them, and making sure they work, and keep them clean, and do any repairs needed. Electrical, plumbing, HVAC.

These are what the machines look like inside the grocery stores

This machine is one of my higher volume machines. It produces anywhere from 1100 to 1900 bags a week. Of course it helps that the store takes VERY good care of it and stackes all the ice bags nice and neat as its produced. I do my job of keeping it running as flawless as I can. All of our machines up here produce 10lb. bags of Ice. I have some stores I have them set to make a little over 10lbs. Like 10.20lbs because the machine likes to slightly over fill it vs. under fill it.

A ice factory we installed not too long ago,

My handy plumbing and electrical work:

That is what its suspost to look like as far as room behind them goes. Many of them how ever have less than 11" between the machine and the wall. if you ever have meet me, and know how skinny I am, its job security for me, cause none of my other co-workers can fit behind them to service them or change the water filters.

I took these pictures so others could see what they look like inside the machine....
The control board inside the ice maker up on top:

The mother board, and all the other boards that control the functions of the bagger system:

with the control board dismounted so you can see more:

Inside where the bag gets filled, weighed, and sealed.

On the bottom, thats the scale that weighes the bags as they are filled.

Thats my job. Its a lot of fun...except in the summer...it tends to get a little stressful.

I work for our local Culligan dealer delivering water and servicing reverse osmosis units. I am also working toward a degree in Mechanical Engineering so I don't have to lug around 40lb bottles of water all day.

3D AutoCAD draftsman/designer working for a company that builds stages and sets for touring rock bands. Our products travel across the country and all over the world. We have a full CNC machine shop with 2 routers (adding another one soon), 3 or 4 vertical mills, CNC and manual lathes, a full electronics and automation shop, and a warehouse for our rental division. We have 3 buildings we work out of (1 - main fab/welding shop, offices, e-shop; 2 - warehouse for rental; 3 - CNC machine shop and steel shop).

Next month I will have been there for 9 years. We do all the biggest names you can think of, Rolling Stones, U2, Aerosmith, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rod Stewart, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Prince, you name it. We also did the Superbowl halftime shows up until the last 2 years.

Here are some examples of what we have built:

    Rolling Stones:
