    Hey guys,

first of all, I'm new to the site, hope to meet some cool people! I own an 02 ws6 with 30k origional miles, with a 402 ls2 stroker. And just recently sold my jeep and purchased my new daily: an 04 gtp comp g. I've always had an eye for the gtp's and finally gave in..

Here's my deal, I bought the car three days ago.. After Babying it the first day, the next night I was racing a buddy to get a feel for the car and long story short when I pulled into my garage, I heard a "jackhammer" type noise and instantly knew I had spun a bearing, as I've had to deal with this on an older car of mine.. I love the car and am going to keep it, but being new to the gtp scene, I have no clue where to get a motor or who to talk to and what prices to expect...

I was looking at zzp's crate motor but i'd rather not spend 3k... So are there any places I can get a good used motor from for cheap?? What about rebuilds?? It seems that rebuilds never work tho... There's always "issues" it seems..

I called lkq and no luck... Any help would be awesome! Thanks guys!

(p.s., will post pics of cars soon)

    Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market

Morad Parts Company - 3800 Motors, Transaxles, & Stock Parts

    Good luck.

Sometimes you'll go through three engines and by then you could have bought a ZZP block.

    But thats rare.

But ask Kfish or bluegtp haha

Look at your local scrap yards, around here a decent mileage GTP motor can be had for $400-800 w/ or w/o tranny.

Just email them. You can use an older short block if you want, just swap your heads and up to it.

The motor is awesome, no problems in the year I've had it besides a small oil leak from the front valve cover. Wish I would've done a thorough gasket change before it went in. I had a GM mechanic install it.

At least around here it's hard to find 04+ at a junkyard. Start calling around, if no luck there's no harm in going with morad

I really appreciate all The help guys... I currently have about 500 dollars in gaskets in my trunk for whatever motor I end up getting. HG set was 4 of that....

I'll give morad a shout today and see what's up.

Thanks again guys! This seems like a pretty Humble forum..

If anyone else has anymore input feel free to share!
