I have noone to blame but myself. I was checking fluids with my uncle and when I closed the hood, I forgot the pins where in my pocket. I got about 5 miles before it happened.

LOL, tommy boy for sure. Scared the **** out of the old people in the Blue Grand Prix right next to me also. I m sure glad there was noone in front of me that stopped. The bad thing is, My 10 yr old and 1 yr old baby where in the back seat. If I was on the freeway, I would have had a major prob. I got over safly though, thanks for the concern. I have the window guy comin out tomorrow though. and I might have a Warhawk hood for sale soon. LOL.
Wow that sucks. Same thing happened to a friend of mine and me in his M3 BMW track car when we took it down the road for a test drive. He forgot the hood pins too. Scared the crap out of me. $185 installed is not too bad for a windshield.
holy hell man, i hope you didnt get little pieces of glass in the car, look like the hood held up ok tho
Dude that blows.. Luckily all is well! Don't worry about the windshield or hood.. it's good that you're safe and you're kids!
I wanna ask you a question:
I noticed you have HUD just like me. I have a crack in my windshield and was told it's gonna cost a lot to replace it cause it needs a special type of glass for the HUD to show up in it.. Did they tell you anything like that? Or is it just a normal type of windshield?
Nope, the glass company only tells you that to get more money, it is normal glass. Dont let them fool you man. Safelite quoted me 320.00 installed cause of the HUD. The guy doin it said it is just plain windshield glass
My GT came with a HUD... its a option.
And it WILL be clearer with the proper windshield.

According to this: Ontario Quebec Club Grand Prix • View topic - changed windsheild and HUD looks different now
The difference in cost is $200 or to $800 or whatever for the HUD.
Ian (ENT) posted the procedure...
they basically do tests on each window produced and those that are crisp clear and smooth (microscopically...or something genreally alone those lines). are passed for HUD use, whileothers aren't.
Meh, HUD looks the same in my SE as it does in my GTP. Like stated above, don't be fooled
Actually with the HUD optioned cars from the factory....the windshields do have a slightly darker area where the HUD shines. Its not noticeable unless you are looking for it. The cool thing for my windshield, I can have the one for the HUD display installed for 185 and by the way thats a brand new windshield. Its good to know the right people haha
