Well unfortunately it is time for me to part ways with my pos. I have gone through two engines and two transmissions. I mostly blame the rebuilders. The engine and trans both just got rebuilt with in the last two months. The ignition systems is crapping out on me now. Think its just one of the coil its misfiring. So I have decided that it is time to throw the towel in and call it a quits. I enjoy the car very much and love having the car when it is running right. At this point there has been more money into it than it is probably worth.

So I am now looking at different cars and trucks. I have been looking at getting a used H3 or Colorado. I would love to have a full size truck but I dont need one nor do I was the cost of gas that is related to them. I have also looked into getting a Regal GS or a Grand Prix GTP Comp or a 4th Gen MCSS. On the completely oppisite side of it all...I have also looked at and driven a Subaru Impreza WRX kinda enjoyed it.

Anyone have any ideas on what I should be be my next car.

Reliablity is on the list. But I do plan on starting off with something that has had a relatively clean platform. Something better than the MCLS. Car wise I want to be able to have a well rounded car. Something that I can road race and be able to drive home and to work the car has to be able to handle being a DD. I really would like to find an old CTS-V I havent had a chance to drive a G8 but I think that would be safe to say that I may want something like that as well. I really like that platform. As for a truck the only thing that I considering right now is an H3. But over all I really just want something that responds well to mods and something that I can be confident that the drive home will be just fine.

Budget would be less than 27 maybe closer to 23.

reliability wise buick is leading the way (as far as jd powers is concerned even toyota has acknowledged they are behind gm on quality) but for road race and what not rear drive will perform better (although MI winters hinder that a bit) the subaru is not a great car as far as quality (when selling used parts we sold a ton of major mechanicals for them and mitsubishi, and yards won't sell one with over 90k where on most cars 200k is the cutoff)

I was contemplating getting a used Subaru as a daily driver since my car is going to become a project car. But, a friend of mine who is big into them said their trannies suck (makes the 4T65E look like a hardened workhorse).

As far as trucks go my DD is an 04 Titan I've managed to rack up 120000 miles so far and it has'nt missed a beat I would highly recommend one to anyone looking for a good truck with plenty of power.

Thankyou everyone for your comments and suggestions!

As for what I am doing with my car. I think I am going to either drive it till it dies again or until December/January time frame and I decided that my next project/DD is going to be a H3/H3 Alpha I am trying to wait for the front E-Locker that is supposed to be coming out soon by GM for the H3's. I already have a couple parts on the way for my H3 that I don't have yet . My plan is to lift it 3" put 315/70/17 Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ tires on it. If I don't wait for the E-Lock by GM I will probably just updrade the lockers myself and stick some ARB E-Locks with a onboard compressor and many custom goodies.

As for the Cobra I might have found a buyer for that as well so I am trying to get my fun out of that before its gone as well. With the American Axle strike and my plant being down because of it I have had plenty of time to play in it .
