Look for pooling of oil or coolant inbetween blower and valve cover indication of lim gasket failure.
check over power steering make sure its not leaking or making harsh noises
check for oil leaks around the oil pan
listen for any chatter in the super charger
and basic stuff check coolant to see if its clean or muddy looking , check oil and trans oil, check for rust being that its a ca car probably no rust to worry bout
And good luck
if its a craigslist car post the ad up
Thanks. I check all that stuff an everythign looked good.
Here its goes. PONTIAC GRAND PRIX GTP
Talked him down to 2100 without the rims. I love the power on the freeway. This thing gets up an goes. I'll post pics of it tomorrow.
Lol haha yes they weren't just big, ugly n cheap they were scrape the **** up and the tires had slashes in em. Its not a perfect car its needs a tune up and a lil body work between the passenger door an fender.
well with out the ugly ass rims not a bad price im in the valley if ya ever need a experianced gtp mechanic
also going to be triing to get something going for a summer meet sometime soon
solid. shoulda got them thangs boii
people's perception of resale value around here is ridiculous.
GRAND PRIX GTP !!!*WITH 22" RIMS*!!!
Ok thanks torque i will definitely let you know when i need some work done because when it comes down to superchargers im clueless lol. Besides that i already know the basics with working on a car.
when you get in to modding im willing to lend a hand ive had mine down to nuts and bolts and built back up there pretty easy to work on id reccomend getting a mech boost gauge and oil pressure gauge as well
Sounds good to me. I'd rather pay you then some shop trying to charge an arm and a leg. I'll post some pictures of it later on today and maybe a video. Im so excited about finally gettin one i woke up early to start working on it lol
yea get some pics up my only worry would be the trans depending how long those 20's were on it and how hard the orig owner drove it
thats what made it hard when i bought mine finding one unmolested
O yea he seemed like a coo guy but i can tell by the way he was pullin up he was doggin it. imma service the transmission this week. Yea i know it was hard findin one in my price range that was unmolested but hey sometimes you get what you pay for but so far everything seems fine.
i payed 2k for mine with 180k on it i paid more then i wanted but i knew i was ripping it apart any ways so its all good
Yea but i bet your didnt have as much problems as mine. So far it needs a new passenger fender and driver side fender, tune up, and the radiator flushed that thing is dirty as ****. needs new axles and a wheel alighnment. It wouldnt start running this morning i had to keep my foot on the gas tot keep it running until about 5-7 everything was good. i didnt that fuel pump resistor this so i wont find out if that worked until after the engine cools down.
wow ye amine ran good was pretty decent only issue was the coupler rattling
damn got some work to do on that thing
Yea it gots alot of work lol. Least it will give me a chance to get familiar with v6 motors because i always had a mustang. Havent had time to clean it or take pics but i will as soon as i get a chance
Damn dude thats a steal. If you dont buy it let me know, all the GTPs in the Cleveland area are either way overpriced (4-5k with 150k miles on it) or cheap and in terrible condition
