Yea the key needs the chip in it, even if it does have the chip in it, it won't start because the car doesn't recognize the chip. I don't think all GP's require a chip in their keys though.

By law you have to have the title in your name present, or the original keys in hand before they will order, or even cut the new keys at the dealers.
Even if there is some "dirt bag" working at a dealership, it has to go through management for approval to insure it is legitimate.
Your VIN is exposed, and it is safe.
I'd like to see them try and steel my car, even with the keys, you still have a home made theft deterrent I installed. My **** wont run unless I throw the switch to let it.![]()
